Hey all, been around for a while so I've decided to make a thread on my fun and games casting.

It started after I bought some rtv compound to cast up little details for my armoured company. However it did nothing but sit on my shelf for a year after I learned to just greenstuff what I wanted. However after I wanted to start making schurzen skirts for all my tanks (not just the chimera) I figured I'd need more then just forgeworld. So I decided to start creating my own .

Starting off with making my own side skirts for the chimera, something I could easily flat cast as the back side of the detail is hidden by the tank anyhow.

So I rooted out my old lego to make a box to lay my masters in and pour the latex

And my first pour was a success!

.

So adding the barrier I quickly got on mixing my resin and pouring, however I didnt measure first and had a bit of resin left... oh well.. however this was the result

I then got one with painting and this is what I came up with

So making another mould ( I may be selling these castings) I moved onto making the leman russ skirts. However I wanted more of a panzer IV type skirt. while still being covered in rivets and looking russ..ish. I also wanted something that can be used both with and without sponsons, so the large hatch is removable and sits around the sponson up to the hull.

However due to my mixing pot failing, I missed a tiny bit of latex, meaning this happened.

However since then I have managed to make a mould. (going to go get some more rtv tomorrow)
More updates soon. Hopefully moving onto turretts, and bases

awesome, where did you get the stuff from?

I want to do some parts for my tanks and I am not sure what is best.

All off ebay originally, I just got one of the casting starter kits. Now though I use Glasplies of southport.

So I managed to weasel another day of work while its quiet. Meaning I managed to cast some moreof the new leman russ armour. Also played around with a different type of resin.. Might not of worked but oh well, back to the older stuff.

Also got a set painted. I'd designed the armour so you can cut around the hatch and remove it (theres a deep panel line there), so it can be used both with and without sponsons.

Anyways, pics

Now for sale too

Right, I'm back again. Started work on the next pieces of armour, mainly a small turret as well as a armored cockpit for the stormraven. I just love the idea of a flying tank, and so wanted to enclose it, imagining the pilot flying using sensors etc.

Anyways here's where I'm at right now. I placed the turrett on to see how it fits in with the flying tank asthetic (also removes the silly intake turret combo). Quite glad with how it turned out.

Hopefully have at least the turret cast up by this weekend
