So all of us sadly are on a budget, the games industry releases shiny new things for us to frolic around and enjoy, but with the rising costs of gaming across all platforms and systems, what type of budget do you try to keep for yourself over the course of a year? and what games have been marked on your budget for this year?

For myself I tend to let myself buy no more then five new games in a year if I'm doing well financially, and I usually preorder, not for extra goodies, but to spread the cost of the hit over multiple months.

This year's Buys:
1. Remember Me
2. Watchdogs
3. Assassin's Creed IV: Piracy is way cooler then stupid Italian cities.

Possible buys:
1. Destiny

I consider DLC independent of the over all gaming budget and take it month by month, and by how much time I happen to have. I do the whole game stop tango to try to save money on games, as well as waiting if I want a particular game, but can't really afford it. Renting is also starting to take a more forward footing, which I believe is what's going to happen with the new Tomb Raider game.

I still need to buy all the Skyrim and ME3 DLCs...that's like $90 after taxes...not even looking at upcoming releases at this point.

I confess ME3 and Bioware turned me off so hard with the debacle surrounding the ending that I haven't and won't buy any of the DLC for that.

The Last of Us
Watchdogs

I've fallen out of video gaming, but I do keep an eye open at new releases. Outside of the above 3, nothing really stands out as something I just have to play. I'm content still playing Guild Wars 2 and CS: Global Offensive in my spare time. Watchdogs... not sure if I want to wait until I have a PS4, since it's meant to be releasing on current and next gen consoles.

The Last of Us is from the studio that brought us Uncharted, and appears to be a mix of Uncharted (story, characters, gameplay) and Dead Rising (not-Zombies and weapon modification). How can I not want to play this?

I've been a fan of God of War for a long time. I'm not missing this one, even if I'm getting tired of the 'this is another prequel of Kratos rise to power' stories. Give us God of War 4 already, but until then, I'll happily eviscerate more Greek monsters.

Watchdogs, because it looks utterly fantastic. A take on GTA's style game with more interesting stuff to do than walk around, start random shootouts and steal cars. I also wouldn't be shocked to see modern day Assassins Creed references, or at least an Abstergo reference, somewhere in it, which would be a huge plus for me.

My gaming budget is pretty tight for the next while. I'm still going through the immigration process which is less than cheap, I'm job hunting, my wife and I have our second wedding and reception to prepare for and plenty of projects around the house. The last game I got was with an Amazon voucher I got for Christmas and I have plenty in the backlog to keep me busy for a while.

I was in a similar position with the ending because the choices left me a little WTF at the time but I think this video did a decent job of explaining what I was thinking of it (spoilered for anyone reading who hasn't seen the ending)
Spoiler:

I have all the ME series DLC (except the character appearance packs), mainly because I'm OCD for getting 100% of the achievements in games that I like. In hindsight I should have waited for the Omega DLC to go on sale, everytime I think about it I just feel that it was a missed opportunity and the Devs phoned it in. My gripe with BioWare and EA is more to do with the multiplayer and the microtransactions that they seem to be putting into every game that they can.
