I haven't done any actual playing, but I bought the Misaki box set because I liked the models. My question is: both Shang and Ototo seem big enough to warrant a larger base as they hang well over the sides of the smaller ones, but only one large base came in the box. Who goes on which size base?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure it's Ototo. Shang's a Totem so would be very surprised if it was him!

But I've lend out my book so wait for 100% confirmation from someone who actually has them! Soz!

Shang is on a 30mm base, Ototo is on the 40mm, hope this clears up any issues

Edit: And remember there is at least 1 totem on a 50mm base (HuggyD)

If you look on the cards it will tell you the base size.

Yeah, but has *anyone* actually been able to fit Shang on a 30mm base?!??!

I'm still trying to figure out how I want to base my Misaki crew. I'd love to use the pewter base inserts, but I just can't see how Misaki can be glued to one with any hope of her staying on...

Yeah, my local 10T player has shang on the base. There is some overhang, but the model fits on a 30mm base, and like all of his models, MIsaki is on a base insert... you're gonna probably have to pin her, or use some zip kicker.

There just ain't a lot of Misaki there to pin! She's on her toes on one foot, and while the other contact point is much larger, that piece has a very small contact area with Misaki.

Great-looking figures, but dang are they fiddly!

I didn't think that the Beckoners were that bad, one of The Depleted and The Illuminated on the other hand.....seriously you have about 2mm of contact on the entire base and that Illuminated is extremely top heavy

I forgot about them! My illuminated are fine, but the depleted with the spindly leg was a pain, I tried to glue that one down, but no luck lol.

I just made my base extra rocky, it now looks like its shambling across a ravine

Thanks for all the responses, I never thought to look at the cards for the base size (live and learn). Overhanging models are one of my pet peeves, it shouldn't be that hard to make the model fit well on the base and the overhanging pieces just look sloppy on the part of the manufacturer.

This is what I ended up doing though, though I'm still not really happy with it (I just noticed all the mould lines in the picture):
