The fact that it is run in a mostly fair and arbitrary manner and that all the nefarious creatures like me are tolerated is testament to it's solid administration and usually benevolent moderation, but you have no real rights and at any time, due to whatever reason, you can be kicked out, if the Admins so wish it. It's theirs, not yours and not accountable.

Actually, I'm pretty sure this thread has given the MODS a chance to troll a member to their hearts' content. Not the OP's original plan, but the flaming idiot who tried to start a revolution against the MODS certainly did a bangup job of looking like a Class-A butthole.

I have to disagree with the not using bad language bit like... Five year olds?! The vast, vast majority of people on here are well versed in the F word. Pretending we are all like the cast of grange hill is entirely pointless and gets pleasant chaps like me banned as well.
Id definately like to see a section for harsh language and innuendo. I dont socialize with children and I dont want to here, I suspect the vast majority of young people are at least teenagers and they swear like sailors!

The fact that people are familiar with bad language doesn't make it automatically appropriate or welcome.
The idea of the language rule is to keep Dakka accessible to the widest range of people. Whether or not teenagers swear amongst their friends has little impact on whether or not parents would approve of their kids accessing a site with 'rules' like Frothers. And it's not solely for the benefit of the young'uns... some of us still believe in moderating our language in public, because many people find swearing offensive. I'll swear around friends or family that I know are comfortable with it, but out in public I watch my tongue out of consideration for those around me. Dakka is in that respect no different from, say, the local coffee shop. I wouldn't sit in the Coffee Club swearing at the top of my voice for all to hear... and so I don't do it on forums either.

Yeah. Technically the mods could tell us we all need to use an avatar that has bunnies in it, or you will get edetid or baned.
