I'm just going to post some pictures of my Ultramarines stuff on here for everyone to enjoy/not enjoy. I'll start with my drop pod. Oh and just a side note I'm terrible at taking pictures! Fortunately the drop pod actually turned out alright though!

On the terminators:

I really like the armor effect. It's well done and looks nicely weathered. Good job on that.

The chest eagles also look good.

The body suit cowl on the sergeant looks off. I thought his head was discolored until I zoomed in on it to see what it was. You might want to use a more contrasting color for something like that.

Also, mold lines. I spotted several fairly heavy ones (sergeant's shield arm, one termie's hammer arm).

Oh you're quite right about the mold lines, I'm brutal for them (not very good at actually modeling haha). I'll try to improve on the mold lines on future models. Also thanks for the advice on the body suit, i'll consider a better colour in the future.

An easy, easy way to clear mold lines:

Turn the Hobby Knife around. Use the back of a standard model knife blade. It's sharp enough to cut away the extra plastic/resin, but dull enough not to cut into the meat of the model. This allows you to drag it along most mold lines and after a few strokes, reduce it back do a smooth, rounded section. It's really quick, too, once you get the hand of it. Use the back near the middle of the blade, not the tip, as you don't want to snap it.

For big stuff, sprue vents, etc, continue to use the blade, of course.

Fantastic looking Ultramarines! I really like the hue of blue you painted your marines with. Excellent weathering work on the drop pod, its not overdone and looks awesome. Looking foward to more pics of your army

Good job, looking forward to more of your models.

Not a big fan of the head you chose for your sergeant, but I see you invested in the shoulder pieces. Those little details surely make a big difference in my opinion.

I like the choice of a more cyan color than a more ultramarine color for your ultramarines. It's so easy for a darker blue to just sort of lay there, flat.

Also, how are you doing the weathering?

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it.

For the weathering I did my paint chips by layering, ice blue, granite and finally boltgun metal. For all the rust and mud I just used forgeworld weathering powders, the mud is done with fresh mud, dry mud and finally bone dust.

For the streaks on the storm talons I used chaos black. I dabbed a slight amount on the model and then dragged my finger or a q-tip over it to make it streak.

The drop pod looks awesome man. The weathering isn't too little or to much. The other models look great as well. Keep up the good work.
