I'm not a starcraft fan, but I really enjoyed the SP campaign in ummm... whatever the first part was called, Liberty something. I haven't yet gotten this but I'm at least somewhat excited. I'm waiting on new games until I get sick of MWO or Bioshock Infinite comes out, whichever comes first.

went on youtube and watched the campaign, looked fine, though as someone said they don't like psychopathic main characters, I do. I found the game really kool with the way you can advance the swarm and all that kool stuff.

Also, I really like the pro games, I've watched HuskyStarcraft, really like the way he commentates. Even when he tries to speak Overlord, its hilarious. I am a huge fan for sc always have been since I got the first one. Really sad that they didn't expand more on some of the fluff for the feral zerg and a infected human from Brood War. Really thought the game was good.

Lately Blizzard hasn't been making their best works. Im incredibly mad at them for killing off Arthas in wow. I even more pissed that they started wow, thought it was a horrible idea from the start. I knew it was going to ruin the story line, and it did.

Im always going to be a little ticked at Blizzard for not letting people who actually enjoy the RTS aspect of their RTS games not being allowed to see the conclusion to one of their series because it changed formats completely.

At least I still have Starcraft *starts to worry that the Dark Voice wont be killed in LotV and wont be killed until the 4 expansion of some new and unannounced SC MMO*

a sad day indeed

I can't wait until Blizzard announces Starcraft Galaxy or whatever and watch all the SC fans weep terrors of unending sorrow in the knowledge that their beloved franchise is forever dead and the storyline will take a decade to finish.

No...I'm not bitter....not bitter AT ALL

I lost most of my respect for blizzard after they released WoW, but thats just me.
After having finished the campaign, ill say it wasnt bad, it was ok. I was fully expecting it to be the worst out of the trilogy (unless they majorly muck up the next one i think it will be) firstly because its a zerg centric campaign (yay, lets discuss essence 5million times) and secondly because as a general rule of thumb the second in a planned trilogy is usually the worst.

(Spoiler) Im presuming that "shapeshifter" guy you fight towards the end was Samir Duran in Brood War. I would have liked more depth on that.

Abuthar was the best character in the game, essence be damned!

Though honestly
Spoiler:
Russian Commissar zerg necromancer Stukov
is the best thing in this game.

the shapeshifter was called Dr. Narud, if you spell Narud backwords you get Duran. Now then, coincidence I think not! Also Abuthar was the best side characters for the zerg, except for the unmentionable infested terran guy.

I agree that if Blizzard makes starcraft into a MMO, I'll stop buying their games till a good game comes out once again.

So what your saying is, you wouldn't buy the MMO. ;P

And yeah, I wish mister unmentionable had his own campaign, he's far more interesting then Kerrigan.

Kerrigan had potential, but as usual for Blizzard, it was rather wasted.

I think its safe to say these were the 2 best characters and we all want more of them.

I also like Valarian and Matt

They really did get more in depth with Valarian! I actually liked him! One thing that I really like about the Starcraft series is that they actually made me hate Arcturus!

I was actually happy he died, because Blizzard had managed to pull him off as a huge jerk really well!!! Even now he comes off as someone I really don't like. Well done Blizzard, you did well!

Judging Starcraft after blitzing the SP campaign is like reviewing a movie in which you only sat through the intro. Then stating that the AI is 'too easy' just makes it an even poorer critique, it's AI, it's never going to give a competent player much trouble.

Won't be getting HOTS. Terrans just get too much love and the resulting balance is just a joke.

So, what you're saying is... I won't be getting it because one race (seems) to be imbalanced. (without the meta game even having settled down at all and Protosss actually winning everything so far). Also, didn't Terran get the least new stuff?

One race out of three being imbalanced throws the entire game out of wack, Terrans had much more options to begin with, they received the same amount of additional units as the other two races. The fact that this is just more of the same is another big reason why I'm not interested in HOTS, coupled with the gradual decline of Blizzard releases.

To the guy who wanted specifics about balance in SC2, try google, or Battle.net if you're really interested in learning something instead of intro-level trolling.

They said that you didn't need to buy this to play the multiplayer, and after Wings of Liberty's singleplayer campaign, won't be buying this lolololo

Blizzard's writing team has really gone into the can since Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne.

I'll watch the ending cinematic on Youtube and spare the $40. Thanks, though, Blizz. I'm sure you'll make up the difference in WoW sub fees, so don't worry.

I really liked it. The stroy isnt flat, the missions are good designed. Really I liked it.

Yeah, blew through it in one day, it just seems cheap.

starcraft 2: story, character development to some extent,
swarm: kerrigan: I am angry zerg guys: we are zerg, w/ no story at all, and just repeating the same talking animations

All the missions are just press F2, apply zergling, repeat, even on brutal there's very few situations where you can't just roll in with zerglings after hitting them with some minimal support, if you go roach broodling+baneling broodling+kerrigan chain+broodling, its hilariously easy. I mean it got to the point in the one mission with the kill-field that I was so used to just sending everything out at once that I kept walking into it with the opposite force by accident, and STILL was in no risk of losing.

I just dont know, they could have actually done a story of some sort, had kerrigan struggle with being a monster, /something/ but its all just like they came up with some character designs, and some random things for them to say, and ran with it.

Sounds like you played another game:

- You just missed how good it is just to unleash the horde!
- Zerglings cant win every mission, theay just cant.
- They arent even availabl in every mission.

If you dont see the struggles Kerrigan had and how she changed you just didnt looked close enough.

Okay nixing the story missions where you don't even build a base, yes they can
raptor jumpy zerglings, a few queens (sometimes) or hydras (sometimes) or roaches w/ broodling upgrade (sometimes) w/ kerrigan w/ group heal, arc lightning, broodlings can literally walk through the whole game on hardest and horribly maul everything they face. If the first wave failed, a few banelings w/ healing death can take care of things, or just walking kerrigan in to kill that one well placed bunker, siege tank and then send in another game.
It was really, really easy, I dont see how anyone can disagree with that. Maybe I just chose combinations that worked well, once I grabbed banelings (first mission BTW) it was pretty much a cakewalk except the meat mission where I eventually just took care of business with kerrigan while zerglings clogged their bases with their dead.

Exactly, Zerglings alone cant win, they need support. Thats all I wanted to say. I found the difficulty pleasant, espaccally when you wanted to do all Bonus objectives.

yeah, except the support you start every mission with, or have to spawn one a few bugs to deal with air, sometimes, otherwise its just zerglings zerglings zerglings

Under a pile of rubble

"Zerg rush until everything is dead with zerglings and a few support.. it's too easy." (Too lazy to quote everyone with this view) Here is a tip, be creative with unit combos if its too easy for you. Since SC vanilla it's always been send zerglings till everyone is dead. A few key units to counter what you're up against is cheaper than 200 zerglings and more effective IMO. As far as HotS story, much enjoyed it but takes reading a few of the books to truly enjoy it. I was clapping at what happened in the end cinematic. Though multiplayer is kind of disappointing.I could do without all the achievements and extra crap thrown in to the multiplayer, just let me play against people and AIs, get enjoyment out of it with out all the distractions.
