Hey guys I made this mobile web app for when I play warhammer I use this alot so I decided to develop this a bit more so, I built it into a mobile web app. This has saved me alot of time when needing to roll more dice than I can hold. Also now I don't break my models when I roll If you guys would like to try it out and perhaps leave some feedback on here I would appreciate it. I will link the web app below this will work on any mobile device

any pointers or things I could expand with would also help thanks.

A few recommendations:

Have the number of dice and the value they roll on as textboxes on the initial page - more clicks make it less usable

Put some noting as to how to put in entries (5=; 5,6; etc)

Put in options for reroll 1's, reroll failed rolls, and/or other roll modifiers as checkbox options.

Also a counter to allow you see at a glance how many 6's are rolled or 1/2 for example

I would never agree to play a game against someone who wanted to use an electronic device for his rolls rather than Dice he holds in hands.

Neither would I. I've got a friend who uses 'spinner rings' for dice, and I won't even use those. Regular polyhedrons are the only acceptable 'random number generators,' in my opinion. If I could force my opponents to use machined casino dice or Game Science dice, I would.

Thanks for the comments, I am now working on adding the functions to allow users to re-roll dice rolls of 1 and also all failed rolls.

Also I understand that some people may consider this to be unfair. But actually the odds are exactly the same as If you rolled real dice, this is not rigged. If two players can agree to use this tool then I think this would come in handy. But I understand the issue. Me and my friends now use this and we all agree its fair and so there is no problems.

This is entirely secure and trustworthy. No player can manipulate the output to gain an advantage. You can trust this system if you choose, much like you choose to trust the dice of your opponent not being weighted

Right. You say it's secure and trustworthy. But if you can write a webapp to roll dice, I can write an app to look like your webapp but is not secure or trustworthy.

true but your webapp wouldnt be from league-dice.com, a simple way to check its authenticity would be to check the webapps URL.

Personally I don't like using an app to roll dice. However in large games such as apocolypse I find it useful to have, especially for things like full units of genestealers charging or massive termagant broods shooting. I'll definitely look into this

Yea ive had this problem alot when rolling. I mostly play games upto 6k points worth and I played against my friend and came up against a battlewagon full of burna boyz and he flamed me with over 100 hits. Rolling this amount of dice is not easy to roll as well as having to pick out specific dice. So I figured I would write a program that would do this for me for times such as this. I use this all the time now for every situation. I dont gain any advantage over the other player.

i like the feel of actually rolling dice, not to mention theres very little odds of someone cheating with real dice as you are watching it happen.
There is a way to rig your dice using a microwave but only certain dice work, and i'd notice if someone started rolling 90% 6s except on morals where he tends to roll snakeeyes. Noone has THAT kind of luck lol.

I wouldnt trust an app for dice. I like to see wth is going on.

As a programmer, I would never trust a "dice roll" of a computer. There are just too many ways to jack with the results; so I wouldn't allow it. Regarding the `just check the url to know it's legit` part, well, it would be trivial for you to add a ?a=1 type parameter at the top to alert the program to roll higher than normal. Which, especially on phones, would't be readily apparent or noticeable in the address bar. Another way would be to simply inject a new scripts.js file that overwrites your dice() function that runs the way I want...

As a gamer, I don't have a whole lot of trust for chessex dice either; however, it's what most people have so I go with it.

Oh cool! If its from something with the word Leage in it, it must be totally legit! Here is my dice app from www,superfairdiceappLEAGUEguys.com! And I'll totally swear up and down on this anonymous webforum that it is totally fair and trustworthy! Seriously, you can take my word for it! (for the record, I've never heard of league-dice.com, so dropping that name as a validator is worthless).

Now, I'm not attacking YOUR dice app specifically, or saying that YOUR dice app is rigged. What I'm saying is that in general there is no way to be sure that it isn't.

As I said, in no event would I EVER play against someone who whipped out his phone to makes his rolls rather than bringing dice. This just sounds completely ridiculous to me.

Personally, I wouldn't have much of a problem with it. If you go through life always assuming everyone is trying to cheat you all of the time, you'll probably have a worse life than if you trust people and someone suckers you once in a while...

It is not something I would use myself, as I like rolling lots and lots of dice, but I think it is a good idea for those who want such a thing, especially in a group of friends who trust each other.

Luckily, my circle of friends is such I would not feel at risk of being cheated. We don't even watch each others skill-up rolls in Blood Bowl. (Mind you, last time I did happen to watch my mate, I saw him roll treble-six for his fan factor on the online version, followed by a double-six skill up, followed by a double-five skill up. We then played a game of table top, and at the end he rolled another double-six for his only skill up. The only consolation was the number of double-skulls he rolled during the match...)

Fifty shares my sentiment. Why would you NOT want to roll all those lovely little dice?! There's scientific evidence that the tactile feedback you get from doing such things with your hands makes the whole thing a little more fun.
Aside from that, if I knew you I'd probably be fine with it, but as you can probably tell from the rest of the thread... don't expect people to be ok with it otherwise.
