Hi all
I'm trying to use my old pot of Boltgun metal and it seems to have some strange... properties. I'm watering it down to the consistency I would anything else, and it still seems to be very thick. I've done afew thin coats on a test mini and it almost looks as if I've globbed it on straight out of the pot - Its looks abit lumpy. Problem is if I water it down too much it doesn't cover at all. If I play it safe I'll probably need like 5 coats.
Does this sound familiar to any of you guys? Should I bin it or what?

I'd bin it at this point. I've found the P3 Pig Iron (which is the equivalent) to cover much more smoothly and require only a little thinning to get good flow/coverage.

Is Pig Iron a good match for old Boltgun Metal? I bought Leadbelcher and it is a bit darker than the old Boltgun.

I had that happen to boltgun too. I just gave it a really good stir, a really good shake, added a little water, gave it another good stir, and another shake. It is fine now.

In my opinion it is. It's a touch lighter than Leadbelcher. P3 Cold Steel is equivalent to the old Chainmail.

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to get some leadbelcher as I'm wanting something a tad darker, though I'll make a note of that Pig Iron.
