So I've been wanting to run a Gunnbjorn list, just cause I find him interesting and I like a lot of the Trollblood ranged models. Here's what I got thus far.

Capt. Gunnbjorn -5 points
2 x Thumper Crews 6 points
2 x Min. Bushwhackers 10 points
2 x Impalers 10 points
1 x Dire Troll Bomber 9 points (due to Gunnbjorns tier 1)

I'd like to keep it a tier 3 list so having trouble thinking of the last 5 points. I think that'd be enough for another impaler. I could also do scouts (as they have ranged attacks) or even a minimum of Sluggers. What do you all think?
Also I had a question. Gunnbjorn's tier 2 lets him deploy a trench for every 2 units. Do Thumper crews count as a unit? So in that list I could deploy 2 trenches?

Not sluggers. It's a trap. You don't really need another Impaler, are the pygs vital? If not you could drop one of them and get another bomber, giving you some more punch. alternatively, ditch one of the Thumper crews and get a large unit of burrowers (if memory serves they are 8 pts?)

Well actually the Pygs are not vital at all as even with 2 thumper units (as I'm pretty sure they count as units) I'll still be at tier 3, so the pygs can be dropped. Which means I've really got 15 points to play with. I can do max burrowers which leaves me with 9 points... enough for another bomber! So the list would look like this.

1 x Gunnbjorn
2 x Thumper Crews
2 x Impalers
2 x Dire Troll Bombers
1 x Max Burrowers

That should be 35 points exactly. And should leave me at tier 3 so the Thumpers will get advance deployment. How's that sound?

Edit: Do you think Gunnbjorns got enough fury for 2 heavies and 2 lights?

Well you being set on the tier limits your list in my eyes, I'm not such a fan of Gunny's tier.

He reliably spends 2-3 fury a turn on his shooting when he is in range, guided fire will be cast regularly with the amount of shooty beasts you have, and save them having to be forced to boost, so your bombers will be getting 1-3 fury each, depending on how much you want to boost damage, the impalers will be getting 1 each, and you can rile for more if you need it/don't go all out boosting if you need to cast an animus or two.

I dunno, it seems workable. But as I said, I don't like his tiers, and I don't particularly like thumpers. But that is just me.

Fair enough. I realize the Thumpers, from a game play point of view probably aren't the strongest unit, but I really want to paint them as I like the models. Also I don't plan to enter this into tournaments or anything, just playing casual games with it, and for that I think it's serviceable. Plus I think with guided fire up, and snipe, if I wanted to I could get 2 fully boosted pow 16 hits with the bomberd for 3 fury... which sounds pretty good to me. I do appreciate the help though. I think it sounds like a fun list to play, and a fun list to paint.

Oh I understand the whole using models that you love despite the internet's reaction to them.
