Hi guys.
I have a question concering the Hive Tyrant. If a HT with acid blood suffers a wound in CC, and he is equiped with a lashwip, should I consider the opponent having Initiative 1 for the acid blood test ?

Yes, because the test does not require that they use unmodified initiative.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I thought it was all models in base contact only? In which case no majority, just those models in base

It is the unit that takes the Initiative test or suffer a wound.
"For every unsaved wound a model with acid blood suffers in CC, the enemy unit that struck the blow must pass an Initiative test or suffer a wound" P. 84 Nid Codex.

So you must check how many opponent of the squad are in base contact. If it's the majority, you make the Initiative Test with Initiatvie 1 ?

Correct. if more than 50% of the models (assuming all have the same normal Init) are in base contact you take the test on Init 1. Which is why if you are running this type of Tyrant you take a brood of Tyrant Guard with Lash Whips to knock even more enemy models down to Init 1.

But remember that Lash whips are counted at the beginning of the Fight sub-phase, so that will limit the number of models affected by the Lash Whips.

I wouldn't recommend taking Acid Blood just for this tactic, it's a waste of points. if you really want to cause a few extra wounds in combat, I'd go for Toxic Miasma, it's actually decent against low toughness hordes that might try to tie your Hive Tyrant or other MC up.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.
