My buddies at my gaming group have been in dispute over the rules for the storm talon since DFTS came out. None of us are fully sure how the escort rule works for a storm talon escorting a drop pop. We all know that you can't DS a flyer any more so does the storm talon if escorting a drop pod come in from reserve and be with in 6" of where the pod landed ? Also my buddy that plays BT was not sure if you can escort a pod 1st turn as BT can DS a pod 1st turn. All other flyers don't come on the board till at least 2nd turn so how does that work then? Does that escort rule just make it the cool thing about the storm talon or would it just come on the board like every other flyer does?

Re-read the escort rule, it specifies that you can not escort a Deep Striking or outflanking unit.

Right we got that part ...how ever if the storm talon did not land with the pod is the question here...as in it came in from the back of the board and moved it's 18" to 36 ". Can the storm talon not even do that then with the escort rule? If it' can't then how does escort rule work ?

You can't Escort a deep striking unit, Drop Pods deep strike. So you cannot escort a Drop Pod.

as GT pointed out Drop pods DS and the Escort rule can not be used to accompany a DSing unit.

So the Stormtalon can escort a Flyer, or any unit that is walking, or driving in the case of a vehicle, on from your own table edge.
