Hello and good day to all 40k fans out there! How's it hanging??? Name's Captain Ironblood, and I'm here to bring in some good 40k fluff topics, some suggested by other community members and some brought up by myself. I'm hoping to make this a running series of mine until I can get an actual show going.
But enough squabbling! Let's dive into the fluff!
So as all of you already know, the Emperor of Mankind, Master of Humanity, the Big E, Emps, Emprah, etc is in essence a rotting corpse. He is "barely" maintained alive through a massive life support machine called the Golden Throne, so good ol' Emps isn't up to much recently. In case you didn't know, the Golden Throne is a piece of junk now, ever since an unrepairable malfunction has been discovered, which spells the Big E's eventual death and the plunge of the Imperium into darkness.
There are a few theories out there on what would happen if the Throne malfunctions completely (much like Windows 8 is now doing) and the Emperor bites the dust.
1. The Sensei-Emperor. No, not like "sensei" in the term of Mr. Miyagi. What this refers to is the gathering of this group of people called the Sensei (believed to be His actual children.) They would be prepared to fight off Chaos, and eventaully sacrificed much like the psykers already dying to bring about the rebirth of the Emperor.
2. The Star Child. Another theory in which the Emperor, at the moment he destroyed Horus during the Heresy, left an imprint of his soul in the Warp. That once he is completely dead and no longer tied to the Golden Throne, this Star Child will be reborn a new Emprah.
3. The Emperor Incarnate. A simple theory in which the Emperor will return to take over a person's body, named "The Divine Host." Short and simple.
So, the REAL question on everyone's mind at this point is what would happen the day Big E does return? In whatever way it happens. How will that change the 40k universe? Let's face it, if sometime in the future, GW decides, "Hey! Let's bring the Emperor back! Won't that be fun? It will sure bring in the profits!" That would spell the end of W40k. Why? Its like the end of Harry Potter. A huge battle would ensue, and no matter who wins, what happens next?
How would you like the course of events to unfold, if they ever do? This is open for discussion, so bring what you got to the table. Any requests? Let me know!

It was my understanding that the Star Child theory meant he would turn into an actual god in the warp when he died in the material realm.
What would I like best upon any of those options coming to pass?
Imperium and Traitors obliterate each other. The story is now about Orks.

4) The religious nonsense theory. The Emperor's supposed history is pure myth just like every other religion, and for thousands of years the Imperium has been keeping a corpse around as nothing more than a religious icon. When the throne finally "malfunctions" (it probably never did anything in the first place besides look pretty as part of the statue) nothing at all will happen. Eventually, when the Imperium is finally destroyed, a Tau engineer will discover the truth and laugh at how the silly primitives could have been so ignorant.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

Primatives, you say? I was under the impression the Tau were stick throwing blokes before the Warp storms isolated them just a few millenia ago.

5) The Emperor just dies, the Astronomican will go blind and Chaos will easily overthrow the Imperium as the Defenders can not react at all.

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too! |

Chaos wins and eats the galaxy thus ends up destroying itself. A perfect grimdark ending imho.

Stated by Grey Templar:The Ward of the Codices
"It began, with the writing of the Great Codices,
2 were given to the Eldar. Immortal, Capricious, and most farsighted of all,
2 also to Chaos. Traitorous, Deceitful, Servants of the Dark Gods,
3 to the Xenos races. T'au, Orks, and Necrons. the Young, the Beast, and the Spiteful,
7 to the race of men. Servents of the God Emperor, the Inheritors of the Galaxy.
But they were all of them, decieved. for another Codex was written…
In the Land of Ward'or, in the Fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Matthew wrote in secret, a Master Codex, to rule all the others. One by one, all the armies of the other Codices fell to the power of the Codex, and from this Darkness, none could see hope.
But there were some, who resisted. a Last Alliance of Men and Xenos took up arms against the forces of Ward'or and on the Slopes of Mount Doom they fought for the freedom of 40k." |

The Emperor officially factually stated in the fluff serves as a beacon for warp travel and all sorts of things.
In the Warhammer 40k universe what is said about the Emperor is true.
If he comes back to life he'll be epic and kill everyone just like before.
The only reason he "lost" to Horus is because he kept trying to save him and make him turn back or something
