I was inspired by the grot rebellion and I have a love for anything squig. I wanted to make an army but I need a source of none cave squigs that didn't mean cutting an arm off. So I found black hat war haggises... They are just perfect and I hope to give my squads some IG bits that my friend gave me. But the models are pretty hairy so I can up with a backstory for the squiggly bunch!

Basically many orks pulled a prank on the warboss, the warboss was so mad he ordered all of the orks involved to have the *gasp* Squig Brain Transplant! With the squigs orks use for hair! Anyway the transplant got me thinking, what happens to the ORK brain? And viola! Super smart squigs! I think I'll have them as IG due to playing tyranids I never get to use tanks. Much less a PLASMA tank.

Anyway I'm new here so....uh...hi...

Any advice for a custom army is appreciated.

My armies: Tyranid, Nurgle/Dark Eldar and (hopefully) a squig one.

I'm not sure a squig using an ork brain would be considered super smart by anyones standard (much less a group of orks who managed to get rounded up and de-brained). I cant really see the logic in using codex IG? Somehow in a a squig body these orks become better shots but worse in CC? Can drive and maintain vehicles better despite lacking opposable thumbs?

Running it as Orks or Nids codex would make the most sense

Could always chalk it up to a weirdboy's explosion. They can turn people into squig's, and he might have exploded so impressively as to turn a whole tribe into squigorks

As for getting the models together, perhaps there are bitssites selling bombsquigs? Or maybe something in the fantasy line, I'm sure they sell packs of squig's for fantasy orks.

But yeah, play it with the ork rules, for sure

Finecast squigs look nice but really expensive, especially for playing a horde army like IG, Nids and Orks, they're about £3 a piece.

Alternatively if you're GS savvy squigs seem like they would be easy enough to make that way.

Fit this guy in for pure awesome

Black hat makes squig look-alikes called war haggises. I wanted to use IG for the fact that I envy tanks. I am tyranid player and I can tell you they are a pain! Ork codex would work well though. Thanks for the idea. War haggises are £ 5.50 for six. For guns I think I'll make tiny little tubes and mount them on every shooty squigs back. Vehicles I'll give the squigs helmets with wires attached to the vehicle.

A giant squig for a Warboss, obviously.

What if the squigs had NON-ork brains. I thought that they would die in the transplant but then I remembered WAAAGH!! Power negates all logic.

You should use a squig bubble for a kff. Just glue squigs in a sphere around a mek

Squigs glued in a sphere around a Mek? Not to shoot you down but I don't plan on using orks, just squigs. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by the squig sphere. Could you explain? And also, any ideas for squig psykers?
