I'm looking for a good game to eat my time for a Mac. There have been a number of games that went FTP recently, but they all seem to be for the PC. I know WoW is on the mac, but I've grown bored of it. So really, just looking for suggestions.

I'd like something with a bit more meat if possible. WoW has alot of content... Plants vs Zombies is fun, but theres not much story there.
I may have to check out Heroes of Newerth though.
Any other suggestions?

I'm pretty sure Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 are.

The main reason I got Diablo III was that a friend of mine who only has a Mac picked it up and it gave us a game we could play together.

Borderlands 2 also works on Mac, and I believe Guild Wars 2 was working on a Mac version as well.

Steam is also available on Mac and if you hop over to steampowered.com you can look through their selection.

Yeah, they have a specific mac section.
I recommend TF2 if you're interested in team-based shooters. It's still going on strong and it's still quite fun.

Steam is terrible for mac games, TF2 was the only decent game on there. Most popular strategy games work on mac (Command and Conquer, Warcraft, Starcraft, Rome Total War, Age of Empires ect.) Also this website is great for loads of old mac games. If you can run OS9 on your computer, most will work.

Well aside from Awesomenauts, Borderlands 1 and 2, Wargame: European Escalation, Killing Floor, and so on... and of course that isn't counting the countless indie games like FTL, Castle Crashers, the Bit Trip series, Grimrock, etc...

I have SC2 for the mac, finished it a while back, was a lot of fun. I however don't like the zerg, so I think I will be skipping the new one.
I also have steam, but it seems like the PC section is WAAAAYYY better. A lot of the games seem equivalent to an app on an iphone.
Diablo may be the way to go. But I heard that theyre putting that on consoles soon?

I recently 'Wineskinned' Torchlight 2 and it's brilliant.... Maybe that should be the way to go for you? Just get good PC games and then use Cider or Wineskin to patch them over. Works pretty well and they are quite stable... Although 'The Witcher' is buggy as hell.

You could also try dual booting into windows and just whatever you want. I also think there are a couple of emulators for windows games out there too. IIRC my buddy had one called 'wine' maybe?

I'm looking into Wineskin now. I'll download it and give it a go.
Also, I played the first chapter of Diablo 3 and man did it take me back... 60 dollars though is a bit tough right now, so that's goin on the shelf.

Really? That's a damn shame, it's a great little time waster. I haven't been on a Mac since my Classic bit the dust many years ago.
