Kilcin I actually just edited that in while you were typing - they'd like to get them in if they can make them fit but I get the feeling not as their own faction.

Mantic had a meeting with Antenocitis Workshop today - no more details than that.

and Secret Weapon and Mantic have come to an arrangement more news over the weekend

Thanks DaveC; I would be more then happy if they just sprinkle a few into the Rebs ranks.

rebs, what tau should have been. maybe have the nameless be a fast moving hard to hit race, but once hit they go down fast. I still want me pure robot faction (the dread ball equivalents in warpath, and i want a pure teratron faction, i know that faction would be so small unit wise, but i dont care.)

I hate seeing Robotech getting more funding than this.

As shallow as it may be, I just want this to make more money in the end than Robotech.

Not that I want Robotech to do poorly- I'd rather see original IPs get better funding.

Hopefully we'll break 300 either tonight or early tomorrow and we can get some more aliens or robots up.

To each his own and all, but I think the way the Asterians play sounds pretty awesome. Anything original and different is good as far as I'm concerned.

Makes more sense for a low population/ hi-tech race to use drones more rather than risking their own skins.

Would be nice if GW background for the eldar was similar instead of black library books and codexes constantly depicting of waves and waves of suicidal guardian squads (civilian militia) being mown down in their hundreds by space marines.

Why would a dying race risks even a small number in an environment like this. I'm not find of the magma aspect per say, but the concept is solid and I really like it.

Edit: Ninja'd. I guess SS has a reputation as a "homer/fan boy", so me backing up the point still has merit

Heh, it jumped $10k in 2 minutes. Looks like no reward selected either, since the $5k council of seven pledge was picked up a few days ago.

Don't be surprised if the total doesn't stay that way... it'd be super-awesome if someone just put down a genuine 10 grand, but experience tells us it's more likely to be someone playing silly buggers.

I hope that's not some Stretch Goal Shenanigans going on!

I'd rather see both get a million bucks so we get loads of free stuff. I'm pledging in both

Ronnie gave bit of information in on the Asterian background last night basically they know what caused the plague but they are not there to set things right they have their own reasons for being there they view the Corporation itself as little more than a plague just in another fashion they are unwilling to commit troops to a battle that isn't really their's to fight so they send drones instead with a single commander in charge of them they'll be fast but if your commander dies it's game over.

I've prestagers some money (not in this instance) could be multiple people doing the same. Who knows. But you are correct. There is probably a chunk of that pledg total that is fake, but considering the amount per backer is still pretty low, I'm sure others will add as they decrease.

i was in the process of raising my pledge from 141 to 211, and i noticed it rose 10k, i had a real wtf moment, i was thinking wtf did i put in.

Actually, it turns out that there's been a problem with Amazon in the last few hours with dollar totals not being updated (some other really big KS was closing).

So, most likely, it's legit, and Ronnie's 2 hour questioning thing really raised a lot of extra interest.

Nah I don't buy the Amazon payments issue no other KS I'm watching has moved like that kicktraq is showing 60 backers and $12,153 add $10,000 to that and that's an average pledge per person today of $366 but the projects average per backer is $145 something's not right there.

Mantic themselves just confirmed they can't see any issue with Amazon that would cause that $10k jump

@ ScarSquig: so he raised 10 k for saying manga stylized robots for the asterians. THAT is actually very believable. Now im waiting for the next stretch goal announcement.

They are checking through backer accounts now to see if any are way out.

manga drones for the asterian sounds really good. That way they won'y look like a bunch of GW rejects a la Vermyn.

And we are less than $5k away from the next stretch. Should hit it pretty early after the day-timer flips on Kicktraq.

The Asterians are actually sounding quite interesting as well. I don't normally go in for space elves, but Mantic has an awesome take on them.

Today's gains were greater then yesterday's. Really good sign. I still think they need 2 stretch goals showing. Same reason as always: if one doesn't float your boat, maybe the other will.

Not really, yet. You can get a 3-pack of mats for $55, a fourth mat for $20 and US shipping add-ons only for $5, totaling you $80 for a 4x4 area of gaming mat. No buildings.
I expect the hinted-at terrain pledge (will be around some time next week, I believe?) to offer quite a bit more value over that @ ~$100 level or so, but I could be mistaken

Terrain only prices are coming soon; the Mantic folks say they're still working with the factory on that at the moment.
