How big are those Epic 40k vehicles? Could they work as treads (instead of legs) for marine sized guys, or IG sized guys?

Probably not? How big are they? I have no idea how big they are having not ever seen them in real life.

Way too small, mostly. Good for robo tread feet on Orks, maybe. I've used old plastic gargant arms as 40k weapon mods before.

Whoa, wait a minute, they are the size of an orks (or a marine's feet)? They are really that tiny? Even the EPIC larger vehicles like Land Raiders?

If I remember correctly, they are 6mm scale.
Not as tiny as you would think they are

Interesting. So what do you think would work best for treads for legs for an IG sized dude? A Land Raider? A Hellhound or a Leman Russ?

The mini stompas are good for putting grot heads on. They're pretty small, but sometime a bit too big.

I said Orks for a reason... they'll be big and silly, but Orky! Not as small as a Marine's feet.

Epic models are 6mm in scale, quarter of the size of their 28mm counterparts. The old plastic Epic Land Raiders are a popular choice for tracks, as shown in this chap's Mechanicus conversions:
