Something interesting I've noticed is that Alith-Anar is still the metal version on the GW site. You would think that he would have been updated to Finecast by now, but it is leading me to wonder that maybe Alith-Anar is going to actually be resculpted for the book. He seems to have been a bit of a dud with the current pose/sculpt...but a new sculpt/pose just might change that, along with better Shadow Warrior rules.

The Phoenix is only slightly smaller than the dragon.
And you don't want the dragon to be only sold in sets of three.

BTW looks like a new flying base.

And is the miniature at the far right new or old Maiden Guard?

It actually looks to be a regiment of Phoenix Guard, not Everqueen's Guard.

I might be wrong though, but the helms look like Phoenix Guard.
The flying chariot though looks to be multilevel rather than a simple chariot.

It's the tail from horses on the old Ellyrian Reavers.

Nope, those are horse tails (not pony tails, LOL). You can see a dapple grey flank below the first one, on the left.

Monster. From the pic, it's larger than the griffon from IoB and only slightly smaller than the plastic dragon

I think that is the flying chariot in the lower right hand. Looks like the back end of a dark eldar raider.

Hey so I heard you pointy ears like phoenixes so I put some phoenix guard on some phoenixes for you...Thats all I can think of when I see the phoenixes haha.

Wow, what are those spear-wielding dues at the bottom of the shot? Are those spearman? Sea guard? Something old I'm just forgetting?

A while back I sold my High Elves. With the lack of interest in Fantasy in my area, I figured DoC (as they have multi-game function) and WoC (just because they're already nicely painted) were good enough and sold my still-grey HE and Empire. Having seen those phoenixes, and with 3 guys starting to play fantasy in my area now, I think I'll be re-buying. These rumors/those pictures make me so happy.

If they ever redo these horribles core troops, HE will probably be the best looking army in fantasy.

Apparently the core troops will be re-done and released soon, but not with this miniature release. If the rumors are to be believed, and seeing these phoenixes and the flying chariot, things are looking solid!

I am liking what I am seeing, will be getting a Phoenix for certain, not sold on that chariot yet, but it doesn't look totally awful from that half shot.

Painting up my High Elves with my limited spare time at the mo. Although slightly distracted with Tau construction for the eldest and Wood Elves. Just so I can say I have all three flavours of GW Elf in the gaming cabinet.

Looks nice. might have a reason to dust of my HE's well have to see what the near future brings fingers crossed/phoenix's look nice (imho bet in small selection seen thus far)

Hmmm, I as a non Fantasy Battle fan, I still quite like the look of those phoenixes (phoenicii, Phoenicians?!)

I can see them having some decidedly Tzeentchian applications in my daemon army, depending on size.

Looks like the little birdies in Mario Galaxy.

You can see the new chariot at the bottom of the page almost. At least the charioteers are visible

They look very cool. I think this is going to be a really good release in fantasy!

The phoenix furthest back: it looks dopey, almost like a Pokemon legendary bird hit with a hur-dur* stick.
