im just wondering what do you think is next most competitive type of csm besides nurgle???

You let me know, I have been trying Abaddon+Chosen and Khorne Beserker+Defilers (the original chaos dreadnaught) with little to no luck.

Abaddon and Chosen are too expensive.

Khorne Beserkers need land raiders and that is too expensive. Defilers are obsolete and expensive.

question: Can I take 3 squads of termi and give them a dedicated Land Raider each as their transport but start the game so that the termi are disembarked deepstriking from reserves and the land raider deploy on my side? Or would they not deepstrike and just deploy disembarked on my side next to each other? I want to be able to use 6 Land Raiders for 6 squads of Khorne Beserkers.

Just look at the cost, CSM terminators, bikes and plain jane CSM are competitive. The heldrake is competitive and truly havocs are IF you have selected the best weapon for the situation. Otherwise the do everything be everything obliterators.

The other I have found works is Noise Marines -

1. Relatively cheap compared to other cult marines.
2. Shootiest of the CSM in shooty-emphasized 6th edition.
3. If you want to play assault marines, you do have Initiative 5 so you go first. Preserves CSM.
4. Still fearless, doomsiren makes for good pre-assault fire.

Sit still: 5 Noise Marines: 4 x Sonic Blaster, 1 Blastmaster 147 or 10 NM: 8 Sonic Blaster, 2 Blastmaster 264
Ignoring Cover and good firepower makes them difficult kill.

Assault: 10 Noise Marines: Add CCW, VotLW, Doomsiren + Lighting Claw 235

Of course, if you like you can add the standard and give them FnP, I just dislike a 1 W marine costing @ 50 points that make snipers drool.

Huron and infiltrated termies in a landraider is pretty funny if you can pull it off.

Abaddon + chosen shouldn't be too pricey. Land Raider, Abaddon, and a 7 man chosen squad should wreck any squad in the game. I'd maybe purchase 1 power axe or sword on the champ and some lightning claws. Abaddon does all the work with his AP 2 sword while the chosen champ takes challenges. Just place them centered on the board and don't let Abaddon get baited to a corner of the board.
