They're in the big The Hobbit SBG hardcover rulebook.

Hook, line and sinker. That is why GW has done this. Just be aware in 6 months or when the next Hobbit movie is out, there will be a new rule book and the one you just bought will be out of date and useless since you have to use the newest current version, IF playing friendly/competitive games against strangers. So unless you and/or your friends will play with an older version, you will only have 6 months or so with a $100 (Canadian) book.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

I don't think they'll re-do the rulebook. LotR has become The Hobbit, but I very much doubt the Hobbit will change with the movies. After all, the models are still the same and use the same system. There'll be a host of new models, and potentially a new starter set, but I very much doubt there'll be a new rulebook.

They did it with the three LoTR movies, why would they chane their tactics, infact, wait until like a year or so after the third movie and they will do a one rulebook again most likely.

Ah, I wasn't aware they'd done that, I didn't play LotR back then. I guess, sadly, you may be right then!

What's the chances of the price going up for each rulebook release? Did this happen with the LotR books?

Gonna hit eBay for older LotR main books, I think.

The main difference between LOTR and the Hobbit, however, is what appears to be a large difference in the sales of the books. Who knows, maybe we'll just get codex-like books to update the game model range.

when the LOTR books came out they where little soft back books, TTT was more like a supplement than a new set of rules, then RotK tied them together a bit better before the One Rule Book came out a year or so later incorporating supplements and what not.

With the Hobbit book being so big, hard back and gorgeous, maybe they will just add the next films as supplements? or is this wishfull thinking?
