Mortarion's Heart

Main article: Battle of Kornovin

The young Kaldor Draigo confronts the Daemon Primarch Mortarion, destined to give the Death Guard an insult he will never forget.

So yeah. What do you guys think?

Stated by Grey Templar:The Ward of the Codices
"It began, with the writing of the Great Codices,
2 were given to the Eldar. Immortal, Capricious, and most farsighted of all,
2 also to Chaos. Traitorous, Deceitful, Servants of the Dark Gods,
3 to the Xenos races. T'au, Orks, and Necrons. the Young, the Beast, and the Spiteful,
7 to the race of men. Servents of the God Emperor, the Inheritors of the Galaxy.

But they were all of them, decieved. for another Codex was written…
In the Land of Ward'or, in the Fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Matthew wrote in secret, a Master Codex, to rule all the others. One by one, all the armies of the other Codices fell to the power of the Codex, and from this Darkness, none could see hope.

But there were some, who resisted. a Last Alliance of Men and Xenos took up arms against the forces of Ward'or and on the Slopes of Mount Doom they fought for the freedom of 40k."

Poor Morty....

The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. We were murderers first, last, and always."

ADB: I showed the Wolves revealing the key weakness at the heart of the World Eaters; showing Angron that his Legion was broken and worthless compared to the others; that he was the one primarch who couldn't trust his own warriors, and that they didn't care if he lived or died; showing that loyalty to brothers and sons is the heart of success for the Legiones Astartes, to the point even Lorgar makes a big deal out of saying the World Eaters and their primarch were massively outclassed by Russ, and Angron was too stupid to see the lesson Russ had sacrificed time, sweat, and blood, to teach. We're talking about a battle the Wolves won, by isolating the enemy general through pack tactics, and threatening to kill him, without a hope of defending himself. It was a balance, 50/50 - Angron overpowered Russ, and the Wolves were losing ground to the World Eaters; but Russ and his warriors had Angron by the balls, and barely broke a sweat. They won, no question. Lorgar even says: "The Wolves won, meathead."

Dorn won’t help you either. He’s too busy being the Emperor’s groundskeeper, hiding behind the palace walls. The Wolf is too busy cutting off heads as our father’s executioner, while the Lion holds on to his secrets, and has no special fondness for you. Who else will come? Not Ferrus, certainly. Nor Corax either. Even as we speak, I suspect he flees for Deliverance. Sanguinius?’ Curze laughed cruelly. ‘The angel is more cursed than I. The Khan? He does not wish to be found. So who is left? No one, Vulkan. None of them will come. You are simply not that important. You are alone.’ Konrad Curze to Vulkan

We'll find out soon enough eh.

I checked the date, and this was neither announced nor is it scheduled to be released on April 1st, so I am officially now a sad panda.

I mean seriously BL, out of every bit of stupid, crappy, overwrought fluff in all the 'dexes, you're going to drag this steamy turd back up again? Man, you guys were almost past people perceiving you as trashy fanfic, you were publishing NYT Best Sellers, and you go and ruin it.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks
-----
"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Its possible that GW put them up to it *shrug*. At any rate, I'm sure that we can all agree that its the fault of the holy codexes that Draigo even exist.

Or, we wait and see what it says? I'm wondering if they aren't doing this to put the matter in a different, less UTTERLY DAFT light?

I wonder if they are writing this to atone, to change it up a bit, like maybe Mortarion took a Retribution class battleship to the face first and then Draigo snuck in and wrote 'I'm dead 'ard, me' on Mortarion's chest with a magic marker before legging it when Mortarion started to wake up.

You know guys, Monday is April fools day... just saying. And lexicanum wouldn't be the ones to know about it if this were to be released soon, we'd hear it somewhere else.

Pretty sure this is fake.

It's been in the works for a while: it was mentioned on the BL N&R thread ages ago.

As MGS said, I'm personally expecting this to be an attempt to polish a metaphorical-turd.

Dave is just jealous that Ward's codices have better fluff than anything he could ever write!

Personally, I'm thinking it might finally settle the debate about "Is a Daemon Primarch really a Daemon?".
Given that Grey Knights and the Ordo Malleus have shown the ability to bind Daemons (even within their hosts) before, if a Daemon Primarch is so far removed from being a mortal that they're essentially a Daemon, subject to all the rules and such that Daemons have to adhere to, then the story gets considerably less far fetched.
