Subject: Questions regarding Multispectral Visor

So after playing a few simple games, me and my brother are slowly incorporating some of the more advanced rules into our games and we have some questions regarding visors. He plays ALEPH and his Agema Marksman have Multispectral Visors L2. My question is this, does he still take the initial -6 modifier to discover my Fiday impersonator? Also if he has Multispectral Visor L2, does that include the powers under L1 as well? IE can he negate the modifier from my Lasiq's Mimetism? Thank you all in advance for your answers.
P.S. We're loving this game! I love that there's finally a war game that models subterfuge. I love getting my Fiday in for those close kills.

MSV only works against camo, ODD and low/zero visibility, so against your impersonator he gets no bonus. L2 works the same as L1, but against more things, so he ignores the Lasiq's modifier.

Thank you very much sir, we played it right then. We were just unsure if we had it right or not.

I will. Lol we had some trouble our first couple games, mostly because we choose starter boxes with slightly more advanced units. I got the Haqqislam Bahram pack, so had to learn about impersonation and viral ammo and possibly infiltrate (the daylami have the option to take it) where as my brother choose the ALEPH Steel Phalanx starter, which means I had to dig for the unit profiles since they're not in the online army builder, then had to explain hacking and things like Dogged. We're slowly getting it though, I'm a pretty quick learner and a decent teacher. I know we did a few things wrong, like viral ammo, and my AD: Combat Jump, which I just learned he can hack.

Yes those are both kind of tough starters! Glad you keep going. Its got a lot more detail than other games but thats a plus for me.

Yeah, we just try to take things very, very slowly. We've been known to walk away from a game and come back to it later as well. That way we know we're doing things mostly right. My only gripe right now would be that I wish more people played it. At the moment I find myself playing Warmahordes more often than Infinity, and wishing I was playing Infinity the whole time. I personally love the depth of the game (even if it comes with complication) and the fact of how affordable and expandable it is. I'm already considering my next purchase of HaqqIslam and maybe some ALEPH for my brother. Speaking of which I'd totally take suggestions. I know for my part I like the sneaky aspects (Impersonating, mine laying, infiltrating) so would love some more units that do that. Any ideas? My brother seems to like the short to mid range shooting. He plays his ALEPH much more aggressively then I would. So for him maybe some sorta ALEPH assault team...whatever that is.

I play both Haqqislam and Aleph. Not sure if you want to go for effectiveness or cool/gimmicky abilities.
Haqqislam has tons of complicated abilities, and if you're in for sneaky tricks, consider taking a Ragik with HMG. It'll fit in with your Hassassin focus while adding an Airborne Deployment surporse option.
If you want something straight-up effective similar to his Agema, try the Djanbazan with HMG.
If you're willing to branch out to Haqqislam proper, try a Haris team with Odalisques or Kaplan.
As an aside, feel free to proxy your Daylami as Ghulam. Ghulam are basically the same thing except they're not irregular. Both are available to your Hassassins anyways.
If your friend is a fan of aggressive Aleph, then Steel Phalanx is pretty much the right way to go. Have him consider picking up the Myrmidon Boxed set as a nicely aggressive 'core'. They're more in-your-face than the Thorakitai with their plethora of smoke grenades. The Myrmidon Officer and Myrmidon with Spitfire are also great for their Zero-V Grenades and fire support respectively.
Additionally, you really can't get more smash-face aggressive than Achilles and/or Ajax. Ajax has the added benefit of forming a Enomatarchos with other Myrmidons for bonus complexity.

Thanks for the tips! I love in this game that you can spend an extra $10 and have some really new tactical options. As for the Daylami I tottally didn't realize they were irregular. So they don't really add orders to the order reserve? So really, using the models in my starter I would have 4 in the reserve 1 each for the Lasiq, Fiday, Ragik (assuming he's on the board) and the Muyib, and then the Daylami have one each that can only be spent on themselves? Is that right?

That's right, it's one of the things that makes the Hassassin starter pack really hard to use if you use it 'as-is'.

Well, I could always just proxy. I don't think it's to hard to work around though. Just gotta keep those Dayami moving so they're not wasting orders.

Just proxy them as a Ghulam, that's what everyone does Their equipment and looks are the same.
