There is a new Double Strike Eidolon that is pretty decent (If costly), and the new Glimpse of Heliod is about as good as it gets for Heroic triggers.
Thanks Slarg!
Unfortunately that Eidolon turns me off simply due to the bestow cost. I get that it's amore versatile card, but none of the bestow cards have seemed worth it. Though that glimpse of the sun god is pretty nice.

Tell me how that goes; been thinking of making one of those.
I'm running Mono Red Burn at a tourney tonight, four Satyr Firedancers, four Young Pyromancers, four Chandra's Phoenix's, four of Chandra herself, and burn up the wazoo.

I won four and lost two so fell a point short of the top 8. I had huge fun with the deck, absolutely no problems with mana fixing or land so I didn't feel robbed by bad luck once. This gives me confidence for the deck in future as it seemed reliable and even flowing. It's all minotaurs, several have haste, and a lot of burn and removal. It's not a fast deck but builds nicely while keeping the battlefield clear.
I played a wide variety of decks, green-white huge monsters, red-white and red-green aggro, mono black, white-blue control and an odd green-white-blue deck that seemed awkward. It was a really good day. I traded for a lot of stuff. I won two boosters but the rares were junk.
Card of the day has to be Searing Blood. That paid off time after time.

Can I cast something like +1/+4 enchantment aura to save the cat?

Agreed, try instants like maybe giant growth, or something that counters the lightning bolt...... Or....... You could just completely get revenge on your opponent for killing your cat, with a 'Silence' Automatically Appended Next Post: (For their turn) the silence would be in response and revenge for taking out your cat

Wait, they can't respond to the cat with a Lightning Bolt that targets it...
Here's how the order would go.
Cat spell goes onto stack
[Opponent Recieves Priority]
At this moment, the Cat isn't a legal target for Lightning Bolt, so your opponent would be forced to choose a legal target.
Once the cat Resolves, and your opponent gets priority (like say, between phases or actions on your turn) then they can lightning bolt it..

Why are you only running two Magma Jet in that deck? The scry ability is invaluable in you drawing more burn/creatures/land exactly when you need it. There's no reason not to have four.

Cat gets resolved
Opponents casts lighting bolt (it is my turn)
While lighting bolt is in stack, I cast aura.

You can't cast the aura in response to the instant.
Your opponent is playing incorrectly in this case anyway. During your turn your opponent can cast in response to something. When you cast the cat, he can respond to it by casting lightning bolt but because the cat hasn't resolved the cat isn't a legal target, he'd have to target something else. It's not correct for him to cast the lightning bolt after the cat resolves but before a further action is taken. You don't respond to things resolving, you respond to things being cast, or actions such as attackers being declared. This is the reason why you can't lightning bolt a 3 strength planeswalker after they are played but before their +1 ability is activated.
To go back to your example, once the cat is resolved priority is with you so you get to cast something at sorcery speed. If you then target your cat with an aura it goes on the stack, your opponent can respond with a lightning bolt that goes on too of the stack, unless you respond again with an instant to protect the cat, it will die to the lightning bolt before the original aura resolves.
Once lightning bolt is cast by your opponent, in response to some action you can only respond further with an instant speed spell or ability. You can't respond with another aura as these are only cast at sorcery speed.

I don't believe so, once the cat goes on the stack, priority goes to your opponent, they may choose to do something, or pass priority, if they pass priority then the Cat resolves and priority goes back to the cat-caster. Now, once the Cat's owner does something else, the opponent then can cast lightning bolt to target it.

Hi all, just a supern00bie question:
There are tons of deck packs for different planes. Can you only make a deck out of cards that belong to one plane set or can you mix cards from any old place?

You can mix to make your own deck out of whatever you have. You generally want all the planes that help your deck, or will hinder your opponents.

Orky- Kowboy- True, you can make a deck out of anything you like, but you might want to make sure it has a sort of function for the deck, or theme, like life gain, infect, etc, etc, so it can have a playstyle, and strategy to help you win. But yes, there is a format called standard, where you can only use the select sets that are currently in the standard format.
If only Innistrad and the SoM block were still in standard......... those were good times..............

I think he was referring to the Planar Chaos multiplayer format deck packs. You make a personal deck of planes to use, and when you roll the planar die a plane from your deck is flipped up and affects everyone at the table.

Ok, so question;
Reaper King says "Whenever another Scarecrow enters the battlefield, destroy target permanent".
Mass Flicker effects don't specify when or where what comes in, nore in what order.
Can I Legion's Initiative all of my Scarecrows along with Reaper King, bring them all in at the same time, and Vindicate their entire board by having the King come in first?

You can have them enter the table in the order you prefer.
Edited to add - or rather they all enter the board simultaneously but you decide the order of the triggers on the stack.

The Eldrazi aren't scary in any sort of actual sense (All of them, bar Emrakel, are just fatties with ETB abilities), but they become problem matic in a format where you can only use one of any card.
Because of their shuffle abilities, they either allow milling to be that much harder to pull off (though with those cards I posted I wanna make a Phenax mill deck and see what happens.), or they allow degenerate things with various draw engines.
Honestly, since Emrakel is banned in Commander, the only Eldrazi Titan that worries me is It That Betrays, and I would be more concerned with Blightsteel Colossus than Kozilek or Ulamog.

Poison is same as normal games. Blightsteel isn't that scary anyways. No evasion, no trample and when it dies it is pretty hard to get back. Cheating it into play is hard too. If you get to swing with blightsteel the game is over anyways. It's a mercy kill at that point. Most issues with infect/wither/poison is that creatures who have it are kinda bad. Personally I would always have atleast 1 way to get poison because sometimes just beating face isn't possible.
