I want to make a Nurgle Sorcerer for my Chaos Marines, but I don't want to have to buy a metal, Finecast, or Forgeworld one. I'm thinking it would be possible to convert one using a Cairn Wraith as the majority of the figure. It has a nice hunched over, pile of rags look to it that appeals to me. The only problem is that he lacks legs. Since I don't yet own a Cairn Wraith, I was hoping some of you who do might be able to help me out here. How feasible is it to convert a Cairn Wraith to have legs? Like, is its cloak mostly just a hollow shell, or is it filled in? Obviously I would need to trim the robes down, but the biggest issue would be whether or not I can fit some legs in there.

it is mostly hollow inside. it would depend on what kind of legs you want to use as there isnt a huge a amount of space inside.

i have an unassembled cairn wraith at home - i can give you an idea of space this evening, off the top of my head, you *might* be able to get a plaguebearer's legs inside there with a little trimming. i have some of those too so can give it a whirl tonight

I was actually thinking something along the lines of the VC Grave Guard's legs or possibly the robed Dark Angels legs. I actually hadn't thought about using the Plague Bearer's legs, despite how obvious that is.

The cairn wraith model in my mind seems too compact to make a nurgle sorceror conversion without substantial effort.

If you're going for the shrouded undead look you could probably do better with greenstuffing some fantasy zombie parts onto a chaos marine base and achieve good results (You'd also have ~20 plague zombies to use).

If you're absolutely deadset on using the cairn wraith model you could probably hollow out the inside enough to fit a chaos marine torso with legs attached, which you could then reposition the legs at the thigh joints to make him look like he's walking. This is all speculative though because I don't know how big the cairn wraith model actually is.

here you go, it is quite roomy inside so i reckon you fit a lot of different bodies inside (sounds like i am selling a bloody house!)

i quite like the idea of using a skeletal horse head in there, maybe some kitbashed legs from one too - fully go down the pestilence route

hope this helps

Seeing this yes it'd be easy conversion
