Hi guys I've recently started using the Vallejo gloss instead of satin. the problem im having is the oil wash doesnt seem to flow like it does with the satin? maybe bad batch or something and what do you use to dilute it for airbrush ive been using plan water.

If so what alternatives do you fellas recommend? thanks.

A high gloss will behave differently to a satin, not sure if this is what you're experiencing.

I'd expect on gloss for the oil to run into cracks, forming very hard lines. It's difficult to get a gradient forming on gloss.

On satin, I'd expect a bit of the oil to soak into the surface more, making it easier to stain and build up gradients.

It's kinda like that. But for what ever reason it almost act the way the gloss should. I put it and it runs like in all the painting vids you see hjow it looks like magic. but the gloss i feel has more working time but mine sems to be like putting it on the model as if i havnt put anything on it doesnt run at all.

satin is almost gloss, thats why it almost acts the way a gloss should.

They run because the gloss has a smoother finish compared to satin or matte, thus it is aobsorbed slower, runs more, and you have more working time.

Hopefully everything goes well!
