Well, here is another re-paint of a fairy sculpture, also a commission. Since the last one was done up in such warm, almost autumnal colors, I went with a very different feel here. Also, I wanted to get as far from the original color scheme as I could.

This time I had the foresight to measure her height before I mailed her out and she is a little under 150mm scale- yes, that's very big for a mini. I find there are some advantages to having larger minis to work with, but getting smooth blends takes forever this way.

I've posted her on Cool Mini for anyone who cares to vote.

Holy crap! This looks great! My only question is one of scale. About how big is this?

I tried to get this one out of the way up front, but I guess sometimes the photos just outshine the text.

She's 150mm scale- so she's pretty large. Unless you think she should be as tall as a real fairy, 'cause then she's 1/1 scale, like everything in Fairy Meat.

She's also made of a pretty hard resin. Also of note, she's not made for miniatures painters, so she had some sculpting and casting flaws that needed fixing. Overall, it wasn't so bad (I cut a piece out of her hair and re-sculpted it, but otherwise, all I did to alter the mini was cut off a few mold lines.

Hope that answers your questions.

Sorry, my bad. I just totally ignored the text, which makes me a horrible Philistine. Forgiveness please!

Still, though, that puts her under six inches tall, which is smaller than her pics look. (Although still, as you say, large for a mini!) Great work, especially considering her size.

Well, I'm pretty sure she's larger than that with that staff up in the air. It was a while ago, and I think I was measuring to the eye for the scale.

It starts to make a big difference at this scale- I was just happy to come out with a number that sounded sort of like a standard scale size.

The close ups are a larger than she is on my computer.
