Upping the bs of a leman russ costs a whopping 50 points. Which is three plasma guns, 10 guardsmen, I could name more things. Is this even close to worth it? If so, on which platform? I'm leaning towards the punisher or a vanquisher.

Nope. Never worth it. Sticking too many eggs in one basket. Gives the tank no more survivability than before. if he gave something like +1 to cover while moving due to maneuvers maybe, but with just +1 BS and a few special rules its not worth it.

Depends on the tank. You're getting 33% more firepower on all non-scatter weapons, so if you have a LR variant with a non-blast turret you can just divide 50 by the point cost of the tank: if it's less than 33% you're increasing your firepower per point by adding Pask, if it's more than 33% you're overpaying and should invest that 50 points in buying another tank.

That's an interesting way of looking at it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he becomes worth it on the more expensive tanks?

Yes. But keep in mind that Pask does nothing to increase your durability, and a tank that's already quite expensive is going to become a fire magnet when you add Pask to it. By contrast, two tanks are harder to kill than one and have twice the firepower.

That's a rather interesting trick, I'll keep it in mind. One thing though, I think you mis-typed it because you said both times if it's less than 33%. Was that intentional, or did you mean one to be more than 33%.
Also, I'm doing some of the math and I'm struggling to find a combo that would come out more than 33%

It depends.
He does give you an efficient firepower boost, but he does also cost a lot, and, more importantly, he does require the tank to stay immobile.
As such, he's best used in a defensive role, especially because that's where he can make the best use out of the best sponsons.
The immobility is what's had me cool on Pask, though. Getting russes where they need to be is a challenge enough at only 6" per turn, much less 0".

No, not the maths! Lol I'm pretty sure if the point increase is more than 33%, the 33% increase in firepower isn't justified.

He requires you to stay immobile if you're shooting at vehicles and need the +1 armor penetration bonus. If you're just using him for the BS boost (which is the only thing I considered in the test I mentioned) then you can move as much as you want. Right. That was a typo and has been fixed.

Well, next time I play a game where my opponent doesn't bring any vehicles or monstrous creatures, I'll be sure to let everyone know.
For every other game, it's going to be basically always the best decision to sit still and shoot at vehicles or monstrous creatures. If you want an HS choice that just sits there and shoots, it's hard to justify a russ (much less Pask) when you could just be taking artillery instead.

Eh. You could just stick him into a Punisher and let him murderise infantry.

I use him for general anti-infantry and to shoot down FMCs myself. I realize the BS4 is wasted on flying targets, but rerolling to wound against a winged daemon of some kind with only a 5+ invulnerable is pretty effective in my experience. Not to mention it munches t3 infantry pretty well, which we might be seeing more of with the release of the tau.

Run him in a vanquisher and hes pretty nice. I also tried the expensive bolter boat punisher with him and it helped me win against a flying daemon prince army which was nice.

Yeah, let's just pretend that "you only have to sit still if you're shooting at vehicles" means "you never shoot at vehicles" and ignore the fact that even if your opponent brings vehicles/ MCs you aren't necessarily shooting Pask's LR at them.
