Exactly. There's no way they would not respond to the demand CoC seems to be creating.

"So, do please come along when we're promoting something new and need photos for the facebook page or to send to our regional manager, do please engage in our gaming when we're pushing something specific hard and need to get the little kiddies drifting past to want to come in an see what all the fuss is about. But otherwise, stay the feth out, you smelly, antisocial bastards, because we're scared you are going to say something that goes against our mantra of absolute devotion to the corporate motherland and we actually perceive any of you who've been gaming more than a year to be a hostile entity as you've been exposed to the internet and 'dangerous ideas'. This. From what I'm hearing, the same model was originally going to be applied to the Retribution. Sales numbers kind of changed their thinking on the matter, and could very well do the same here.

I wouldn't have expected them to get a tonne of stuff right after release anyways...they are ALL new!

I think everyone is reading into this way too much. They will fall into cycle like everything else in due time. No need to start adding to them right away, people like to feel their army book is current for a little while

Definitely on my 'to buy, paint and get owned with' list

I am just adding that I see them probably getting their own section every other anthology or so as time goes on. One thing I'm kind of batting about myself is an idea that, for instnace, when new characters show up for warcasters they might get a new one, but they might not get something when all is gotten is epics.

Note the Faction is designed a bit with this in mind. Things buff and help other things a lot. Warcasters all having Field Marshal and the unique MAT/RAT rules of Vectors mean that each new warcaster also brings with her ten warjacks that work completely different from caster to caster, and models with different priorties tied into that. We have a UA that's rumored to attach to multiple different units. We have units and solos that buff other units and solos. Any new piece gets added to the big machine, and also may modify or interact with everything already released in ways not seen a lot for other Factions.

As noted, it also may be PP expanding the game a bit with secondary armies and not having to also do the long term burden of full releases for everyone each time. They seem to think that 9 main Factions, plus Mercenaries and Minions is their limit for constant updates, but side groups like Convergence let them still create variety, as well as side armies for some players who want to diversify but not get bogged down. It also allows for exploration of niche parts of the IK that weren't seen often before, like Zu, Infernals, or other dragons.

Neat thing overall as far as I'm concerned.

And stuff.

To me it sounds like they are releasing the Forces of Cyriss book this year so don't expect MORE CoC in the Warmachine book released later this year.

Also, don't expect them to get "Bonus" releases to try to get them up to par with the original 4 like they have with Ret. They may even get a few less like Mercs.

Basically they are releasing alot of CoC with the book. Sounds like pretty much anything that they might've put in the next Warmachine book or two.

Personally, I am not really concerned that PP will not support CoC unless the army totally bombs out the gate. I don't think it will. PP has a much better business sense than GW so I don't expect them to release something they don't expect to support down the road.

Mercs get just as many as the other factions, so cant really compare the two.

Mercs are going to be the first faction with 2x Collossals!

Mercenaries actually aren't guaranteed as much as the other Factions. They have ranged from much less (11-4 in the corebook, 4-0 in Apotheosis, 8ish-6 in Wrath, 12ish-8 in Legends) between mainf actions and them), a bit more (9-11 in Escalation, the entire Pirates book, 10-15 in Superiority).

The only places where Mercenaries got as many releases as the other Factions is their Forces book and Colossals, the latter having the bare minimum to even have them.

Note that a lot of things have shifted in PP's release pattern. Historiclaly if they did one thing special, everyone got one. This included cavalry, epic warcasters, Ally models, character warjacks, and huge based models. It looks like they're moving away from this. Not all Hordes Factions have a three-man character unit. There will be a Rhulic colossal. Skorne is getting an extra character warbeast, and it looks like Circle is getting ane extra plastic kit.

Convergence kind of falls into this. I think we if anything won't see them in the very next WM book, but I can see them at least getting new warcasters now and again, as well as a few other things PP thinks they will do well with. If Mercenaries can range from nearly half as many to nearly half again as many things as main Factions, I think CoC is able to as well, though probably leaning to the smaller.

And stuff.

in MK 2 books

it was an average of 8 - 6Mercs for Wrath
But Mercs got 2x Casters in reality (Connie Blaize is better for mercs then Cygnar)

Collosals it was Even.

Core Rulebook to me doesnt count as everyone was getting their new Faction book.

Also Mercs got a 1 PT Model from Gargs.

Gap is very very small.

The gap is incredibly small, I think there are still more Mercenary stuff (including Minions) than anything else. The main point is that Mercenary releases are volatile and show PP doing a Faction who's extra entries are not as based on parity with the other Factions.

And stuff.
