Played a test game with this list and it did really well. I love the balance and it's fun as hell to play. What are your overall thoughts on its competitiveness in a GT environment?

Note: you can watch the battle report here on dakka.

i would skip the manz i dont really think they suit your list, and with the rest of those points you could get that ADL with comms relay and a group of lootas.

I've never been overly impressed with Lootas. I know their the rage, but they just don't do it for me. In passed games I felt my lists lacked a powerful punch and since I'm not running klaws in the boys groups, I figured I would fill that gap with the mega nobs. I'm wondering how necissRy the aegis line is.

Any thoughts on the CSM portion of he list?

Well first rule of trukks, allways take a reinforced ram, as for the chaos looks good, cultists are cheap for holding objectives and the deamon prince is DEADLY.

Awesome. I toss in the reinforced rams. I may just rock the meganobz in a battle wagon and call it a day.. I'll have to give it a few play tests to see what I like.

My understanding is that allies of convenience cannot hold objectives?

Lootas are pretty killy man. Main problem I see is that a huge chunk of your fighting strength is concentrated in two Armour 10 vehicles...

My understanding, if memory serves the BRB says;
crunch - "allies of convenience treated as enermies in all regards"
fluff - "allies of convenience are simply enermies who have teamed up for some joint purpose, delaying the destruction of one another until another day in the face of a greater threat" (or something like that)

Which would mean that them not holding objectives makes a whole lot of sense.

of course they can hold objectives. What the hell is the point of taking allies in your list that cannot ? I don't mean to sound nasty but common now.. this kinda stuff drives me nuts.

You have the baleflamer on the heldrake, I would skip the brand on the DP and give him a black mace and he becomes your elite squad killer, mine continually crushes 5 man termie squads without blinking.

I don't give a damn about GW, their crap rules, their extortionist prices, hot models, limited edition books, Digital Release and spam in a box armies. I don't care about Forgeworld or their shoddy resin and their wacky unit rules or whether or not they're allowed. I don't care. I don't.

I love Warhammer 40000 and if you want to try to spoil that for me, or impose your own vision of it onto mine, then you can go suck a lemon.

I'm typically the guy who is arguing *against* RAW in the rulebook, but in this case, seriously man allies of convenience are not buddies at all, they still hate each others guts and have only teamed up temporarily, and theres no way they can hold objectives!

As for the list, I think its very solid under the competitive definition of solid.

Sure you aint thinking of desprate allies?

I mean allies of convenience can be anything from Chaos space marines hiring ork freebooters to kill some 'ummies for them to Tau helping out IG as there's a greater treath on the planet.. Desprate allies on the other hand are more likely to shoot each others than Allies of convenience are.

It doesn't matter if it's the KKK and NAACP working together . Allies in your army can ..C A N score no matter what their rating is. i'm not trying to be a gakhead but..common.... lets not get ridiculous here.

I dunno about AoC, but the book goes out of its way to specifically say that Desperate Allies cannot capture points. Like, its exact words are that that desperate allies are "non scoring non denial units". Sorry man, I'd say that theres no room for interpretation there.

I think allies of convenience can score.... But aside from the debate... How's the list? I'm heading to a tourney in June and would love to get something super solid.

Thanks
