Subject: Is this new Tau fluff?

So the theory of The Ethereals possible mind control over the Tau has been debated many a time, and I am no expert on the previous fluff, having read none of the codices, I am reading through the new 6th Ed codex now, and have just come across this
From Page 20 of Codex:Tau Empire
'SHA' GALUDD
Homeworld o f the Nagi, a small species o f highly intelligent
worms known for their mind control abilities. When first
discovered, the Nagi were hated creatures known as mindworms,
but since the early violent conflicts, they have agreed
a peace accord and joined the Tau Empire. Many Nagi now
serve as advisors to the Ethereal caste.'
Is this new to the Tau background, is it further evidence towards the mind control theory?

Well that world is discovered during the first sphere of expansion, at which point the Ethereals were already controlling the Tau. So no. It is however a loose implication that the Ethereals may use these worms on other non-tau races (serving as their "advisors").

Or maybe that the worms have usurped the Ethereal caste.

Maybe it is the worms now ruling the Tau through the bodies of the Ethereal's like the Goa'uld?

I can't believe they didn't use them like MSS for Ethreals in Close combat.
