True, but I thought the voice was a bit annoying at times (But that is how Asuka is suppose to be I guess). Granted I did think she did much better for Asuka in the Rebuilds and I think Brina Palencia is a way better choice for Rei than Amanda Winn Lee was for Rebuild English Dub wise.

True, I can admit that cannot see Asuka without the "WHAAAAT?" trademark Tiffany Grant has for her. I think it might be personal preference that I prefer the Rebuild Asuka over the original character-wise to not see that.
Yeah, the Japanese voice actor can be on-and-off as how Tiffany Grant did some parts in the original (but the German she threw in during the English dub sounded damn well as well!)

I believe Grant does the English dubbed Asuka in rebuild as well. Do you mean that you prefer the Japanese Rebuild Asuka to Grant? I don't think I've heard it. I didn't watch 2.22 with the Japanese track.

Oh no, I prefer the English dub for the Rebuild track overall, I am just trying to say the original Japanese voice actor for Asuka was a hit or miss as Tiffany Grant as with the original dub for Asuka. I guess I must of worded it wrongly so sorry about that. :/
And the Japanese track for Rebuild does not have the emotion the English voice cast has, especially for Mari. (Granted you do not have the "ZA BEASTO" but Mari seems much better in the dub).

To my mind, Rebuild is in all ways better than the show. It's more coherent and more engaging both visually and emotionally. That said, 1.11 puts me to sleep. I guess it's the lack of Asuka. Even in the Rebuild, I still find Shinji and Rei pretty boring by themselves.

To me, I though 1.11 was pretty good, and surprised me how much it was not that much of a rehash. Then again I am more of a fan of Rei than Asuka, but Asuka is good as well.
As for 3.0. The DVD/ Blu-ray release is making its way in Japan April 24th, but seeing how the last two movies where with the American releases and that..... I think it might hit US theaters in summer in two years. :(

The centre of a massive brood chamber, heaving and pulsating.
Gonna be honest, I love Evangelion with all my heart. Or at least, the Japanese version. The dub is utterly horrible.
Example: Poor, poor Shinji. In the original Japanese, his voice (provided by the masterful Megumi Ogata) is perfect. Her performance reall did sound like a shy, introverted, sweet young boy.
Spike Spencer's performance, on the other hand, was just too cartoony and whiny for me. Whilst I cannot understand how anybody could hate Japanese Shinji, as he is downight loveable, dub Shinji is genuinely annoying. I think a lot of hate for Evangelion comes from people who watched the dub.
As for Asuka, whilst Grant did a fantastic job, I preferred Yuko Miyamura's performance. She was really good at the "unhinged" side of Asuka.

I can agree with this, but I do think Spike Spencer does a lot better job as Shinji in the Rebuild dubs in my opinion (Then again his character is suppose to be kind of cowardly, but yeah, some of the dub with Shinji was kind of an on and off kind of thing).

I'm also a great fan of Evangelion, and it's a bonus that the German sub is quite excellent.
I looked into the English and Japanese versions, but couldn't quite enjoy it as much as i did in German.
