Today I ran out of super glue.
I started out some months ago with a couple bottles of Galeforce 9 stuff. Then I was using some Citadel stuff.... so today I ran out.
I went to Office Max today and looked for some glue. I went for some Loctite Super Glue Professional Liquid. I've had good experiences with their control/squeeze bottles and thought I'd give this one a try. I checked the back of the package... usable for the same type of items as the other Loctite stuff I used. In fact this stuff takes 15 - 30 seconds to work before bonding. Another bonus was that this was a 20g bottle vs. the 4g bottle that the control/squeeze bottles come in and it only cost a couple bucks more.
So I buy the glue and bring it home. I open the package, get the current model I'm working on (a Cygnar Long Gunner Standard Bearer), twist the cap off, and apply what should be enough for the bond. I hold the pieces together for maybe a minute.
The pieces aren't bonding... I held the pieces together again for another 30 seconds... still not bonding.
I thought maybe the surfaces were dirty and the glue had bonded to the particles and were made unusable for the bond or something. I kind of wipe off both pieces and try again... still the same thing: No bond.
I double check the package to verify that it should work with metal and it does.
I'm not sure what the issue can be.
TL;DR
My Loctite super glue professional liquid is not working with the metal model I'm working on.
What do you think the problem is?
