Hey there,

I was just wondering whether it was possible to have my sternguard veteran squad, combat squad at deployment and for both squads to arrive via their own drop pod? this would save a FOC slot by taking a 10 man squad in stead of 2 five man squads.

thanks for looking!

Do you mean take 2 drop pods for a single squad? No, they only have the option of 1 per squad, even if you intend to split them.
If you mean both squads riding in the same drop pod, then yes.

no, i indeed meant splitting them and them taking a drop pod each....oh well thanks for answering

Ah, well splitting doesn't happen until deployment, a long time after drawing up your army list.
At that point it is still only one squad, so only allowed one transport.

Unless you just take 2 5-man squads with a drop pd for each...

Right behind you...

IIRC you can combat squad your guys when they disembark from the pod. Or am I remembering that incorrectly (I don't really run pods much)?

You're remembering the old rules, read up on the new one.

Moot point, you can embark both combat squads from the same unit on one vehicle anyway, so you don't need to look for that loophole
