Hello all.
I can't actually imagine what a plasma gun looks like when it fires.
I know this is a strange request but if anyone could possibly link me some decent artwork where a plasma gun is actually firing I'd be pretty grateful.

As far as I can tell, it fires single shot's, but rather than being like bullets, its more like firing huge glob's of molten glass, they don't hit the target and go right through, they splat onto an opponent and melt through them in seconds, like...well, if you actually -were- hit by a huge glob of superheated glass xD
I imagine plasma cannon's fire huge dollops of plasma that just spashes all over, frying anyone hit.

This, pretty much.
BRB, page 57: "Plasma weapons fire pulses of searing energy that are extremely effective against heavy infantry and light vehicles."

Plasma guns fire globes of superheated gas-- which is so hot that it forms a new state of matter known as "plasma". Plasma itself can be manipulated and held in a magnetic field, and the lore of the weapon has it encasing the plasma in its magnetic field only to be disrupted upon impact, spewing the ultrahot gas over its target, seeping through any cracks in armor and just plain melting through most armors, and likely instantly killing most people in a single hit. Only super-tough creatures such as Orks or Space Marines can survive it without the assistance of some kind of energy shielding to stop the plasma from reaching them.

Exactly. Use to be in onlder games like Necromunda, a Plasma Cannon's blast actually created a short-lived sun (several turns, sometimes) after it hit.
So imagine each shot like crackling ball of energy, sized per the gun/pistol.

And yet if you by Only War rules, you can relatively easily survive a plasma hit.
Or rokkits (happened) or autocannon (happened, I think I am ready to go to the next level and take a battlecanon round to the face).

If you can find it on youtube, there's a wonderful scene in the Doom movie where the Rock fires a BFG and it basically melts a corridor. This is what I imagine it to be like, though I know the details on the after-effects differ.

For storyline sake, it hit's, but almost entirely misses. You get burned but not floored by the plasma, the rocket riccochet's off you before exploding, or hit's the ground at your feet, the battlecannon ping's off your armour, sending you sprawling but alive.

According to the GM, I took the rokkit square in the face, but I get your meaning, since half those shots are not really described by the GM, its pretty obvious how it goes.
