Hello all.
I'm making my return into the hobby after about a 1 year hiatus, and am ready to make a long needed progress post. Here's my Ultramarine army so far, with photos from my painting years ago and my progress since those first miniatures. Let me know what you guys/gals think. More to come as I continue to build/paint my army. Thanks for reading!

Sternguard Sergeant
Tactical Marines

Great improvements, looking good man, I'll be subscribing to this. One thing, if you don't mind me saying though, is Veteran Sergeants tend to have a white stripe in the centre of the red helmets, it's old insignia and not many people do it anymore, but it helps differentiate between normal and Veteran Sergeants, and ties in to the rest of the squad.

Thanks, and no I don't mind at all. I'm always open to feedback on my work and appreciate that you pointed it out. I will likely go ahead and paint the white stripe, it seems that I had used some of the older color schemes without thinking about it. They're mostly pretty subtle things, like special characters having a splash or red somewhere on them (mostly on the weapons or bolters). I love the Tyrannic War Veterans models, glad to see someone else using them for their Sternguard too. Nice free hand as well by the way, looks really good.

Thanks! Haven't done much freehand stuff and I'm glad it turned out looking alright. Here's an update on that repainted sternguard sergeant's helm, and a bunch of WIP stuff. I'm a a slow painter so this might take a while for me to paint up everything.
Sterngaurd Sergeant:

P.S. It appears I had an incident with the spray paint I used on the rhino:
First off it's the wrong color.
Second, it started to crackle in certain places since I was overzealous and decided to try to get it all in 1-2 thick coats...
So should I strip the tank and start over, or try to paint regal blue over the existing blue in the hopes that the cracks will fill? The only glue on the rhino so far is the glue on the magnets holding on the side doors, and the lights as well as the treads, so it's easy to assemble/disassemble at the moment.
Anyways thanks for any insight anyone can give with that.

I'd say just carry on with the Rhino, you can always strip later if you don't like it. What colour are you doing Sicarius' crest?
The Sergeant looks sweet though, and don't worry about being a slow painter, you cannot be any slower than me.

Thanks, I'm glad the sergeant came out well. It took a good amount of time going back and forth from red to white to get that stripe symmetrical and on center lol.
As far as Sicarius' crest goes. I'm torn between, just pure red, GW's red/white alternating, or just using the Sergeant's red with a white stripe down the middle. Automatically Appended Next Post: Haven't had much time to paint recently, but I figured I'd update this with a new model kit I picked up today. Guess what HQ choice I'm building with this.

It's been a while, RL got in the way of painting for a couple weeks. Anyways, here's a long needed update...haven't finished his base yet, but will post up pics when I finish that tomorrow.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, a quick group shot of everything that's fully painted in my army so far.
