So the BRB says that Tau can move in the assault phase even if they are not assaulting. It goes further to say they can move 2D6"

It in the following paragraph says they can also move as normal....does this mean they can move 2D6" or 6" in the assault phase?

2D6" in the assault phase. That is the normal move for an Assault move.

They move as normal, because in the Movement phase you can fly over models/terrain.

Also Tau have Jet packs, not Jump packs.

So they can only move 2D6"? Not 6"?
