... Please move this if there is a more suitable place for it....
So I have begun to suffer from 40k stagnation, and I am looking for a new game to pick up, I already plan on picking up SAGA with a couple of buddies back home, but I am now looking for a specific style of game.
I want to try out a game that would play out a bit like Battle Royale/Hunger Games, so individual characters, dog eat dog style survival game? Does such a game exist?
If there isn't I may have a go at writing a rule set for such a game myself, would people be interested in this sort of style game? Automatically Appended Next Post: Also if it turns out there isn't a game like this around, would anyone be interested in doing some co-writing?

First of all, there is a tread with a list of alternative games here:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/369662.page
You might want to take a look there to see, if anything catches your fancy.
Inquisitor from Games Workshop focuses on very small numbers a side, so you could maybe use that:

Yeah Inquisitor isn't the same sort of thing, plus it carries expensive 54mm models, so its even hard to proxy with cheaper models. I did have a look through that thread first hand, but didn't notice anything that seemed right. Thanks for the reply though. Automatically Appended Next Post: There was 'Arena Deathmatch' but reading reviews of the game it didn't seem like a very good game, if anyone has any experience with it that would say otherwise, I'm all ears.

Any of the dungeon crawl style games will have the mechanics that you need...same goes for most skirmish games, especially ones which allow for character advancement.
You could quite honestly use any RPG as well, and just drop the role part and use the straight combat from it.
Inquisitor...if you wanted would work well enough. Just divide by 2 and use 28mm figures (or dont divide by two...but still use 28mm figures).
Id guess some of the larger sites that have a more generalized audience already have scenarios and mods for hunger games using any number of rules systems (Board Game Geek...and TMP generally has a thread or two for gaming with whatever the latest movie is).

If you are suffering from 40K burnout, and want a small "VS" type scenario game, maybe look into a table top super hero game?
Pulp city is currently revamping the rules, but the current set of rules is a free download.
A second choice with a little more control would be Super System 3rd ed. You build your character (simple like GURPS) and toss them on the battlefield.
both games play well on a 4x4 table and both can play with as little as 2 characters per side.

Could you provide me a couple of links for these, I'm on a phone and googleing just doesn't want to comply.

Halve all ranges, movement, etc, and play with 40k models. Suddently you've got a huge range of characters to choose form, and your scenery works...

You looking for minis, or RPG's?
Theres one out there from a japanese movie/ tv show-
Classroom Deathmatch. http://atarashigames.wordpress.com/teachers-lounge/classroom-deathmatch/
My recommend would be for you to check out Helldorado, Hero Quest, or Mordhiem or the varients.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

Also, for larger-than-life character locked in deadly struggle (my first thought was also Pulp City) do consider Malifaux.
