I figured more people play at stores, but that would make sense as far as famous people, but still even Robin Williams himself not ever taking a picture of his army never posting a battle report IDK but you would think if there were 5 celebrities who played there would be 1 picture of them playing.
Most people wouldn't fit in the stores that exist. Heck, even a few people in the grand scheme of things don't fit in the stores that exist.
If you were to figure on the high side a million GW gamers world wide, somewhere in the ballpark of 6000 or so game stores (independent and GW stores)...that is over 160 some odd people per store. When was the last time you had been to a game store and even saw half that number playing...or a quarter...or an eighth. A big store, hosting a big tournament might draw 50 players and maybe another 10 to 20 tag alongs. That is only GW players, not touching on anyone else.

I can see the Sean Bean memes already...

Serious or joking? Diesel doesn't seem like the gamer type.
He got a D&D game going on the set of Riddick between scenes that included Dame Judie Dench.

Or:
"I played Warhammer Fantasy against Sean Bean yesterday."
"And?"
"He died"
Wow that's great. I can understand why we don't see them out and about playing. I would imagine the press is a real pain in the butt for them if they want to just go out and get their geek on. Still would be a blast to play against robin Williams or even watch a game that he was participating in.

We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

He was also at the 50th anniversary of d&ds official con.
He is also a massive world of warcraft player he was on the johnathen ross show a few years back talking about it.

I saw that Billy Crystal was on the list. I have heard this also. I heard that he in fact plays Orks and speaks in his yetish voice when he plays. Not sure about that. But thought I would give my two cents.
Varg Vikernes plays D&D, and he's currently making an RPG called Myfarog. It actually looks pretty fun.
There's a guy in Dark Funeral called Lord Ahriman or something as well, though that may be the Zoroastrian god (though I highly doubt that he actually knows anything about religion apart from Odin, Satan and how much he hates Christians).
There's probably a lot more metal musicians who play. I wouldn't be surprised if the guys in Ensiferum, Korpiklaani or similar bands play D&D.
I presume Weezer does. I seem to recall an early song of theirs that references it.

I ran into him (literally) whilst rollerblading in San Francisco many years ago. Don't let that demeanour fool you - he still has a mouth like a wharfie He did apologise for the tirade when I spoke revealing an Aussie accent (back when we were the "new thing" and everyone was doing the "shrimp on the barbie" thing.).
He also used to run a Paranoia (RPG) game for some mates in their games store back in the day and was also a fan of the "Cyberpunk" rpg.

On May the 2nd, in honour of Star Wars day, I'm assuming, Will Wheaton, Seth Green and a couple of others (Morgan Webb maybe - who plays war hammer too) are having a game of X wing on his Tabletop show.
Here's a picture of Vin Diesel with a Nurgle symbol and Chaos Star on his abdomen:
And another pic of Robin Williams at a gaming store:
Supposedly there was an interview where Angelina Jolie said she had an Eldar army. Christopher Lee also apparently plays Warhammer Fantasy. I'm pretty sure I saw Marilyn Manson show one of his Fantasy Orcs on MTV. And I think I read somewhere that at least two of the members of GWAR play 40k.
I'd point out those pics as a good part of an explanation why you don't often see celebs gaming in stores. Let's say you're in a store for three hours for a big game one afternoon. First you have the people already in the store being 'oh hey, it's X.' Then how many of them are going to make a FB post or Tweet, 'you'll never guess who's at the store!' And maybe pull more people in who just want to gawk?
Also, in my experience, the majority of adults game at home, and these are not people with mansions and the potential to have palatial rooms devoted solely to their hobby indulgences.
All of our local players are adults. Non of us have the room and those that do our wives aren't keen on having half a dozen guys laying about the house.
Mine basically told me there's a reason she won't go into the shop and she wouldn't appreciate it if I invited the shop to the house. I just shrug and grin then tell her, hey you married one of those guys
The guy has the name of his longest played D&D character tattooed across his chest. He is one of us...
In the 30th anniversary issue of Dragon Magazine, it was revealed that Diesel had a fake tattoo of his character's name, "Melkor", on his stomach while filming xXx.
Also Peter Cushing had a fascination for playing 'Little Wars' written by H. G. Wells in 1913.

When Robin Williams was filming Juminiji (sp) in Vancouver here back in the early-mid 90's he got GW Vancouver (located on 8 Water St in Gastown) closed down for a Saturday so him and his kid could play 40k.
