Starting small with Tau, I figured MSU would probably be most viable at the small scale, with added punch later.

At 500 you have 0 ways to deal with tanks.

at 1000 you cant have more than 1 cyclic ions.
Ethereal may or may not be useless with so little troop though that is something i need a play test more.

I'd drop the Shield Drones (48 points) and bring at least 4 x Pathfinders instead. Give the Ethereal an Honour Blade if you can afford it. If you can find the points (by dropping 6 Fire Warriors and 3 Stealth Suits, perhaps?), bring a Hammerhead with Submunitions and Disruption Pod. That is an infinitely better use of points.

Thoughts? Adjustments?

First of all, you can only have 3 x Crisis Suits in a team. I'm guessing that was just a copy/paste error. Also, you can only have a Cyclic Ion Blaster once per detachment. What is a detachment? Well, if you check the BRB regarding picking your army, you'll see that a detachment is your main army or your allied group or you and your teammate each have a detachment when playing doubles. So, I'm reading that to mean 1 Cyclic Ion Blaster or 1 Airbursting Fragmentation Projector per Tau list. Bringing 3 weapons on your Crisis Suits seems a little bit of a waste since they can only shoot 2 per round. Why not TL the Missile Pods instead? Also, your 4 hardpoints on your suits taken (if there were only 3, that is). Crisis Suits only hav 3 available.

Shield Drones on the HQ slots are wasted again. Bring Pathfinders. Put two Fusion Blasters on that 6 x Stealth Suit group.

Broadsides Should probably bring the TL High Yield Missile Pods and TL SMS. They are just BETTER. Advance Targeting is a waste here, too, unless you are just wanting to burn 3 points each. I would go with the Velocity Tracker (vs flyers) or nothing at all. Shield Drones are a waste. Bring more Pathfinders.

I would try to bring two groups of Fire Warriors at 10 rather than three at 6. Use the extra points for Pathfinders. Two groups of 6 would be optimal.
