It was indeed reached while they slept but they're likely still sleeping as I believe they commented that their home base in the the Pacific timezone. I'd expect an update email in the next few hours that hopefully includes a male power armor render. Just a recap for those who don't really keep track, here's a quick blurb about what models you're getting after the current stretch goal is met for the two most common pledge levels:

$80 First Contact :

- 4 VF-1A
- 1 VF-1J
- 4 Destroids (Tomahawk or Defender)

- 12 Pods
- 1 Glaug
- 1 Recon Pod

$140 Battlecry :

Everything under First Contact
+ Rick $15
+ Roy $15
+ 2 VF-1A (6 total) $25
+ 1 VF-1 A/J/S $15
+ 1 Destroid Spartan $10
+ 1 Destroid Phalanx $10

+ 1 Glaug $10
+ 1 Recon Pod $10
+ 9 Pods $37.5

So you're getting at Battlecry $140+ worth of add on goodies for the cost of the $60 pledge increase and that will only increase over the next 3 weeks.

Technically it was one ship plus the one-million-ship Imperial Fleet against Dolza's Main Fleet with 4.8 million ships.

Technically it was one ship plus the one-million-ship Imperial Fleet against Dolza's Main Fleet with 4.8 million ships.

Also, the Grand Cannon certainly wiped out a fairly massive number of ships. I mean, when you have 4.8 million you have forces to spare, but it was still a hell of a shot.

At Showdown (not officially yet, just in funding pledged until I'm absolutely certain my buddy won't have to pull funding) I think I'm getting a pretty damned fine deal, and having someone else in with me does take the sting out of some of the S&H (of course $25 apiece isn't really that much better than $30 solo I suppose).

Now it's mainly a question of how many add ons I and my friends get. I've got at least 3 others who'll likely be snagging something in alongside the two of us, though I'm not sure we'll see enough demand for full boxes to justify a Reckless tier pledge. I suppose if 3 of us end up there, getting a 4th box and splitting the contents/swag for use and/or sale might not be a terrible idea, but I'm giving it a few weeks to really make as close to an informed choice as possible.

Depending on what ends up in the bonus receiving tiers, I might end up snagging a pack of Gnerls, Male/Female Power Armour and a MAC II, but that presumably becomes around $100 (depending on the FPA box cost) and doesn't necessarily even make legal squads... yeah, definitely going to need to wait to make an informed choice on some of that.

Just remember to try and convince them to pledge $1 for the pledger number goals. Those 3 others make up 1% of what we need to complete ALL the current pledger goals.

While I've never run or played in a Robotech RPG game with the current rules, I did both with the previous almost identical ones and I'd probably push you towards variety. In an RPG setting, you'll end up with multiple "characters" that will likely decimate pod squadrons. Combined with the palladium RPGs more loosy goosey range rules (as opposed to the strict grid system of D&D 3+), you'll likely be fine with each pod and a die being a squadron counter. It might be better to make sure you have at least one of every model for that. If you can fit that in your budget with the $140 level at the end of the KS once the freebies are completely determined, stick with it for the extra VF-1As and battlepods. Showdown to my understanding is effectively two of everything in battlecry so just multiply stuff by 2.

@Spartan: Shipping is included in each pledge for US customers.

$430,000 Hit! Every Boxed Game Upgraded!
Update #33 · Apr 30, 2013 · 12 comments

This was a big one, now EVERY boxed game will be upgraded with two additional Destroids that can be built as either Tomahawks or Defenders!

$450,000 Stretch Goal

NOUSJADEUL-GER POWER ARMOR

You've been clamoring for the Zentraedi Power Armors, and here comes the first of them! Once we reach $450,000 we will be able to make the Nousjadeul-Ger "Male" Power Armor which will be available as an optional Purchase Add-on.

Pledge Manager

We've received many questions about whether or not we will have a pledge manager at the end of the Kickstarter that will allow you to add more funds. The answer is, "Yes!"

After the Kickstarter is over we provide you with a link to a pledge manager. In the pledge manager you will be able to give us your shipping information, what add-ons you want to use your extra funds towards, and even increase your pledge (via credit card) if you decide you want more stuff.

Once we get closer to the end of the Kickstarter we will release more detailed instructions on the pledge manager.

Also remember that if you want to help unlock all the great stretch goals it is best to pledge during the actual Kickstarter!

Oh, I've already done so. I'll have to check back in to make sure they did it.

On one hand, PB/ND might get annoyed if too many people try to clearly game the system.

On the other hand, pledging $1 to keep tabs, comment and get the updates is a common KS thing, so as long as some resourceful type doesn't get like 50 people to bump the number up in the space of a few minutes, I imagine it'd be hard to combat.

Even if they wanted to. Even a little gaming of the system still lets them say "oh wow look at all these backers!!".

I wouldn't expect much progress on any kickstarter today as the Amazon payment system has apparently crashed for the second time this past week. I really wish they'd offer up paypal as an alternative. It has it's own serious issues (namely with withholding cash from legitimate people) but an alternative would be nice.

Latest Update:

Amazon's payment processing has been crashing and giving error codes for a good chunk of the day, sadly impacting today's numbers.

Well, we really wanted to post an update today, so we figured why wait? We have plenty of cool stuff to show you!

People are clamoring for more rules info, so we had our trusty rules scribe, David Freeman write up a rules overview for you.

Please note that these are NOT complete rules. It is an overview that only reflects where the rules are in their current stage of development. Things can and will change.

Nonetheless, feel free to post your thoughts in the comments section of the update. We probably can't answer all of your questions at this stage, but we'll definitely be reading.

Hopefully, in the meantime, Amazon will get everything sorted out so we can renew what had been a swift climb to the Nousjadeul-Ger Power Armor!

Robotech© RPG Tactics™ Rules Preview

The pledge total also seems to be climbing for the first time in several hours so it looks like this particular amazon payment breakdown is over. From the units referenced in the above rules, it looks like the VEF-1 electronic warfare valkryie variant will be coming out in the KS as well as a future goal.

I'm actually hoping there is a 475k goal in between but I guess we'll find out in about $500. A 50k jump without a big seller like the female power armor might cause another slowdown.

edit: and now we've lost a few backers and dropped down to needing $1200.

A nice short filler stretch.

50k to 500k was going to be a long haul unless they pulled out something really sweet.

[Edit] Can't believe I missed that " ALL Veritech Valkyries will come with options to make them VF-1A, VF-1J, or VF-1S variants"

Awww yeeaaaaa....

[Edit 2] That's a scene from Bye-Bye Mars where Khyron rams Breetais ship while passing it.

Its showing the scene where Khyron's fleet arrives and defolds too close to Breetai's command ship. I'm guessing the free bonus at 500k is a Khyron special character fig. Lots of updating to do in the first post with all these welcome changes.

Sounds good to me. I wonder what will make it different from the regular officers pod? Visually I mean. When nd finally comes out with FPA I hope it's as posable as the veritechs.

It would be cool if Khyron's pod came with the flight booster so it could be used with a Gnerl squadron.

I'm hoping that he'll have the cockpit raised and you see him in armor inside. He frequently opens his cockpit to either gloat or vent his anger in the show.
