After a long delay, I'm back with Order of the Desert Rose battle report.

Nice battle report. I am surprised Tau won considering how badly they were rolling and how hot Blood angel's dice were. The objectives were a little skewed towards tau (the one in the middle was closer to tau) but I don't think that mattered too much because it was 11-7 and even without the last objective tau would have won.

My major complaint with the video was the army lists against the pictures, I couldn't read them very well. I would have much rather seen a solid background so it would have been easier to read. Also PAINT YO TAU!

Understood, yeah, the only reason I won was because Mephy failed his charge and forgot he had psychic powers.

Lol, I just spent a year getting my Space Marine company painted and my Craft world finished because I played them. Now that Tau are out, I'll focus on doing that.

Yeah, black background would be easier.

Thanks, I was going to call it quits but I was convinced to go on and that one event won me the game.

Very fun, exciting, to the point and most importantly, dramatic video battle report I have seen in a while! Watching it felt like it was a game review rather than a report with 20-30min pauses in between and you sounded quite excited to be playing throughout the whole game!

The Tau Co'bra demonstrated that they are not to be trifled with even with two horrible disadvantages against them: skewed dice and horribly boxed in deployment! You dealt with the dice perfectly by not loosing faith and rolling more of them. As for deployment there was little that could be done but it really limited the Tau options. I think the new codex performs at its best when it has space to maneuver, I think, save for pathfinder teams everything in the list should be constantly on the move as much as possible! On the bright side, the Etherial leadership bubble now finally lets Tau deploy at the edge of the board without auto loosing the game to horrid morale checks, while the screens can be purposely placed outside the Ld bubble so they brake and re-group on the next turn (denying enemy charge). Finally, excellent use of supporting fire! The enemy had no blast to speak of and you really punished him for that by being able to keep your force orderly structured throughout the game!

Yeah, I think the army needs to be on foot but many of the HQ options reinforce a static gunline army. Invocation of fire is a great ability but loses its spark if you put the rest of your army in a devilfish.

I'll try out this list a few more times, see what I get, before I change over to something faster.
