I had a basic question about Destroyer Lords and when they join other Units. I have heard both interpretations of the rule so I'm a little confused at this point as a newer Necron player, and how the rule works could change how I do my list.

So my thought was that I was going to have my Necron Destroyer Lord link up with a unit of Wraiths. Now when this happens, does he transfer his Preferred Enemy (everything!) rule to the Wraiths as well. So now not only would the Lord be re-rolling on 1's to hit and wound but the Wraiths would as well? Or is it when he joins a unit that this special rule does not apply to the unit he joins?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

Preferred enemy specifically says that it transfers over, that's why everyone plays them together.

Yep, check out the wording on preferred enemy it allows the wraiths to re-roll 1's too.

As noted this is why this is a popular combo for necron players, quite apart from how wraiths are fairly powerful in their own right.

No I suspect not. I'm curious though, that comment seemed a bit abrupt. Was it directed at my post or the original OPs?

Also the Wraiths make the d lord fearless as well.
