Yeah, I have trouble with them now. It takes 2-3 times as long to take them down, now. Lame.

I wonder if they tweaked it due to BB4 or if someone just hacked it?

Given that survivors still outnumber zombies 2:1, it seems stupid to make the barricades better.

The game is supposed to tweak itself based on a few factors as I understand it. BB4 is throwing things for the time being but probably not for the whole of Malton, just nearbye. It's a good solution really. As far as I know Kevan rarely if ever actually tweaks things, the game pretty much looks after itself now.

Mitchem NW at QSB.

I've not had any recent problems with 'cades, personally. In my experience luck just comes and goes.

I am hitting the cades at somewhere between ten and fifteen percent of the time.

I have added Mr Janje and gunslingerpro to my contacts list. Who am I still missing?

Ah, I still need to find Garuss Acine AKA Test Subject 00.

I just dropped 50 AP taking the Mitchen NW barricades down from QSB to Lightly -1

Another 50 AP to go from extremely heavily barricaded to very heavily barricaded. Eh, between this and some random zombie griefing me by killing me a couple of times--interest is waning.

It's doing it because there are a huge ammount of Zeds in one area. If you coordinate your efforts there won't be a problem, BB4 is still tearing up because there is an element of focus to the attacks.

I'm inclined to agree. I'm all for getting killed (ooh, a big 1 point to stand up! Whateve will I do?) but the idea that the game appears rigged to negate coordinated efforts on only one side immediately cripples my desire to participate.

Casey's Law wrote:It's doing it because there are a huge ammount of Zeds in one area. If you coordinate your efforts there won't be a problem, BB4 is still tearing up because there is an element of focus to the attacks.

But that's the problem- if we hit barricades at 50% when there are 5 of us, and we only his barricades at 25% when there are 10 of us, then there is no reason to ever bother with having a large group.

Honestly, I'm almost curious if there have been some unfounded accusations against us of zerging, because I find that my hit % is considerably lower when near everyone else in Vinetown, whereas when I go roaming, I turn into a murder machine.

EDIT: I just spent 30 AP taking NW Mitchem Mall from VSB down to QSB. feth that. Someone let me know when this BS is done; I'll be back then.

Mitchem Mall is open, get in there!

And as for what the rest of what' you're saying.. don't stress out over it.. sometimes luck really is just that bad, it's nothing to do with anti-zerging flags or anything, the game's creator doesn't really care about that stuff. I've been playing for nearly a decade on and off and seen all the drama that goes with suspicions of this sort of thing and it's all hot air.

What we do need to crack the mall is to arrange (via PMs) a GMT time to all attack the mall at once and all get in there. That's the only way.. it's also a lot of fun, I've been in other hordes that hit targets at certain times of the day (sometimes 2 hits per day for people in different time zones to all benefit), and it's a lot of fun since you get to see a dozen of your zombie buddies all chewing stuff up in real-time. It would only take a PM from the group leader to everyone in the group stating a GMT time, call it a party invite more than anything.

It's just a lot more fun to have us all nomming on survivors at the same time rather than aimlessly flailing at rapidly-repaired 'cades once every hour or so. A little organization adds a lot more fun to the game.

Can't post it publically, though. Survivor groups reading this forum and acting on the info is almost a 100% certainty.

You are standing outside Mitchem Mall, a derelict grey-stone building which has partially collapsed. The building has been very heavily barricaded. Also here is Spartan91 (11HP).

Somebody has spraypainted %u%##ins Y*u **e# %%si@@# @##* %lon@ %%L onto a wall. The graffiti has been obscured by smears of gore.

There is a mob of sixteen other zombies here, eight of them from your horde. You recognise Patient 13, Slow and Purposeful, AgeOfEgos, Shaax, notpopped, Kay VanRaven and Azazel the Cat amongst them.

There are seven dead bodies here. One of them smells strange. You recognise terriblehorus, MANBAGZH and Doctadeth amongst them.

WOW.....you all shall be AVENGED my Brothers!!

You maul Spartan91 for 3 damage, and grab hold of their torn and blood-soaked black scarf. They die.

--->insert evil laughter version 1.3 here<----

You are standing outside Doddington Towers, a small white-stone building surrounded by a large paved plaza. The building has been extremely heavily barricaded. Also here is Lowman101 (47HP).

I stopped screwing around with the barricade and look for prey lol....cept now I can't hit this bastage for crap...

Are you suggesting UD is self aware?

How is it good that it now wants to kill all humans?

I just went to Gel Hospital. I was the only zombie there. It took 30 AP to take it down from EHB to VHB.

Lol, notprop.

I'm with scarletsquig on this, I've been playing for many years and have never felt this is an issue. It's a simple handicap to stop one side ruining the game for the others. Nothing to complain about, ride it out or adapt.

Also, the cat, it isn't based on silly things like a few extra zombies in a block, more like the hundred extra zombies walking around with BB4. Once that dispands everything will slide back to normal.

Welcome, basically follow the instructions on the first page of this thread, change your group to the Nurglings and then add all of us, and we'll add you so we can recognise you in the game. And then head on over to Vinetown. Where abouts are you now?

Took me 40ap to do so btw. Figured with the obvious focus on Mitchem, we could catch them at Gelasius with their pants down.

A couple of interesting things have happened this week:

First, we have had four more Dakkanauts join the horde. I still need to get profile links for Garuss and R3con. I also need to update member lists on the first post of this thread and on our group Wiki page in the Urban Dead Wiki.

Second, Renegade Romero, one of the Big Bash 4 founders, sent me a couple of emails. The first one answers our concerns about poor attack success recently versus barricades.

He said,"
BTW, the game doesn't penalise zombies due to having lots in one spot, so the current awful RNG isn't due to the Big Bash, nor all your guys hitting the same area. Universal bad zombie RNG does happen from time to time, though, usually lasts a few days and returns to normal. But the reason for it is unknown.

Automatic balancing measures do exist in the game, but they seem to be directed at survivors.

Here's a quote from Kevan on the matter, from a time when survivors were down to 14% and search rates for them were crazily high:

"Yes, this is just a simple built-in balancing mechanic, triggered by the overall state of the game - at the other end of the scale, search rates drop when survivors greatly outnumber the undead. If you want a thematic reason for it, the pickings are richer for an individual survivor when there are fewer of them around to do the looting, and when the suburbs are getting too comfortably repopulated by the living, it's harder for them to find something that's been overlooked by everyone else."

Hope that helps put a few minds at rest "

The final interesting thing lately was that some mean person going by the name Donna Pittman posted the following on our group Wiki page. "We are basically into griefing...and encouraging zerging. We are unable to coordinate massive zombie strikes unless more experienced players can join our ranks so please applie."

Renegade Romero noticed the update first and used "undo" to restore the page to its original text. I guess I need to talk directly with the leaders of our human opponents because some of them still think we are zerging. I find that funny because if we were zerging, we would have 30+ zombies attacking NW Mitchem Mall instead of the 9 or 10 members currently there. The rest of us are following individual agendas all over Vinetown and even neighboring suburbs and at least five of our regular members have dropped out over the last month. That's normal since we play when we're interested and less busy so players drop for a while and then return.

It does appear that not as many humans are reading this thread as we originally believed. If they were, they would know our anti-zerging views and see how many different personalities are involved in our horde.

That's all the items of interest. If you have an opinion or question, please post.

Thanks!

JB
