my bases are very normal....but with the latest launch of Tau I have all my models painted with very very empty bases.
I want to do something nice with them.
are there any tutorials out there that has material for creative basing? I have a riptide and a flyer that needs some SERIOUS base attention (i wont forgive myself if i waste that large canvas on yet another grassy field...
not sure if this is posting in the right place but anywhere to get some inspriation or how to's for some nice base construction would be appreciated
First I would suggest you decide what theme you want for your base. This will narrow it down so people can better help you. Basing is such a huge area with many techniques. Some ideas :-
urban
grassland
jungle
alien jungle
winter
desert
volcanic
mountain
spacehulk
tau base
...
Automatically Appended Next Post: I have tried to split the list into difficulties:-
EASY
urban
grassland
desert
HARD
jungle
alien jungle
winter
volcanic
mountain
spacehulk
tau base

Grassland is what most of my other bases cover...but as mentioned i want to branch out a bit....
so my areas of interest are grassland, jungle or a middle meeting point where grassland begins to gradually get more mountainous...i guess more rocky grassland with bigger rocks XD
that would be great. only problem being I have a hard time getting cork around here. though....i could probably source something similar. thanks for the idea
any jungle ideas out there? I am very curious about that.

This can be used for some interesting effects, also jungle plants if you can get to an aquarium store the plants in there are usually pretty cheap for a big bag, which will let you do endless amounts of plants.
