Why do I get the feeling that this entire exercise was borne out of the OP's desire to insert some Mary Sue personification of himself into the army? "Oh, the leader is this totally badass human that defies all conventions and happens to also be me."

Just... just . No, I actully made some SM chapters for example, but they're all jerks who don't give a feth about nothing, no mary sue or something like that.
Simply I'd like to make my commander a Human, is so mary sue or wrong?
I don't think so, so what's your point again?

Unconventional and Mary Sue often go hand in hand. It's not always the case, but enough to lead to someone to such a conclusion. I like this idea; I want to see humans with tau tech, not just a sticker on their shoulder and a pat on their back.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

Reminds me of a fluff piece I read on this forum, where the Chapter Master was a 16-yo named Stephen, who was snatched from Earth by a recruiting ship that fell into a random wormhole that teleported them to our reality (and immediately fell into another one after grabbing Stephen), and proved to be such a badass that he was voted Chapter Master by the time he finished training (which took half the time of any other Space Marine ever).
As someone who has seen the worst of homestuck fantrolls and read through my immortal without my eyes bleeding this is pretty low on the scale of worst special snowflakes.

Doesn't explain the nano-technology though. As far as I know, only the Necrons have been established as having that sort of technology.

40k goes out of it's way to avoid going into the specifics of how most of the technology works, rogue trader even encourages treating it much like hocus pocus magic. So I doubt we''ll get a lot of explicit confirmation or denial with regards to nanotech,. That being said though, the dark eldar use it too if memory serves, so it's likely the harlequins and craftworlders also do. As for the Tau I'd say that medical nanites are very likely in usage, assembly nanites are also a possibility.
