So, I was interested in purchasing some units for my Tau from Forgeworld. However, I went to look up the rules for Tetras and cannot. Forgeworld's website won't even let me look at the downloads section (where every link I have found claims that the rules are located). Internet Explorer helpfully pointed out that Forgeworld may require me to log in first, so I created an account with them and logged in, but still could not look at the rules. I even checked to see if the fault lay with IE and tried Firefox. (Since IE prevents me from doing some things. Like using the Space Marine painter, for example.) Again, no luck.

Has anyone else run into trouble with this? Any advice? Since the rules for Tetras are freely available for download, is it still a no-no to ask for someone to give them to me, if they happen to have a copy of them saved?

Note that the rules for the Tetra are going to change when the second edition of IA3 is released (it's being printed right now and due in a couple months), and the rumor is that Tetras are going from a 4-shot markerlight to a twin-linked two-shot markerlight. If you don't have an urgent need for them right now I'd suggest waiting until the updated rules are released before you commit to buying any.

However, even more thanks for telling me why it isn't up. I will indeed postpone my order until I get a better idea of what they can do, and whether or not they are worth it. I appreciate the help!

Also FYI, forgeworld said directly on their facebook page as an answer o thoes who asked about the things that no longer make sense that "it will be pdated in IA3 2nd edition", pretty much annoncing that not only it will happen, but it will happen soon,

Are they redoing all of the IA books?

I'd love an updated Anphelion Project.

I bet that remakes for IA will follow new codices rendering rules invalid, like half the tau rules are.

If that does happen it won't be until the Tyranid codex is updated first IMO.

I wish i could use the Remoras as offical rules instead of FW :(

I got a reply about 2 weeks ago from FW saying they would update Tau rules in a couple months... so even if that's not a new book, it might be a PDF or such. Obviously, they'll sell us a book if they can get it out in a timely manner.

They are going to sell you a new book. The revised edition of IA3, which contains all the Tau rules, is finished and has been sent off to the printers. A preview copy was available to browse at open day, and the book is expected to go on sale in about two months.
