Hm, I was cruising ebay and I found a lot of models sold from china. The only picture of the models were like fully painted, and the seller had 100% feedback but no comments. Anyone ever pick up something from one of these over (pacific) seas dealers? If so, how was your experience?

They're almost definitely recasters.

Yep, likely a recaster. In particular, this is a huge warning sign. Steer clear!

Lol id just be curious how good the model is if its only 99 cents. I mean, come on man! 99 cents! But its really got me quite curious.

If you are decent at using green stuff recasts are easy to fix and make look pretty good. I picked up wraithseer from Russia and it wasn't that bad.

I accidentally bought some recasted plague marine parts.
Massively cheaper than the real stuff and the bubbles just made them look more nurgley. With a little bit of greenstuff repair they look as good as the official stuff.

So as long as you buy with your eyes open recast stuff can be worth it.

Ive bought a few times from china. The biggest problem ive had is that the model may not match what they send you. I bought a metal Ahriman that was fully "pro" painted. What came didnt even have the right staff in his hand let alone the right paintjob. Whole reason i payed extra was for the really nice pictured paintjob.

Other problem ive had is having to pay extra shipping when it arrives for international shipping charges that some companies stick you with. be very watchful of that.

Sometimes the stuff they send you isnt even the item youve payed for either. Like if i payed for firewarriors and i get metal kroot for example. happened once.

Ive had good experiences too. Old metal plaguemarines picked up dirt cheap arrived just as pictured within a week. Got 10 of em plus a champion for 20 bucks. Got tau battlesuit bits (plasma rifles always not having enough!) got 5 of em for 3.50 buy it now price. the shipping was more than the items. plenty of other good ones just saying that you get what you get and theres not much you can do about it if you dont like it.

Never buy anything from China directly if you want to get anything genuine. This is true of anything on eBay, whether it's toys, clothes, bags, or models.

I got myself a cold shoe for my camera for 2 pounds from china... with shipping. It's perfect.
But yes, you should be careful what you buy, and basically expect to be shafted from sellers like that. See it as a gamble, and count the money as thrown away. It's a win if you get something useful.
