Hi all not sure if this is the right place for this post but here it goes. I have to choose a new army for 40K. I have experience with 40K but very limited in 6th edition. I have narrowed my choice down to the Tau and the Orks. I have experience playing both armies but neither in 6th edition. Lets just leave it at my previous armies have been destroyed and are not salvageable. This is more of a poll than anything because I really can't decide. I know how to play with both armies so that is not the issue. Just general opinion really, Orks or Tau? Please leave comments and a small explanation for your reasoning. Thanks for the suggestions.

I'd opt for Tau. New codex, shiny new models and decent lists.

Well even apples and nanobots have some things in common.

I wouldn't let Tau having a new book sway your decision, new book is shiny & cool but at the end of the day it will be old at some point.

From what I know Orks are much more flexible in their lists, Mech, Horde, Bikers. I only ever played Nob Bikers, and hell I've seen a shooty ork list do well before.

Both armies are fun, Tau lend more to the disciplined fire line, coordinated protection & efficient military strategist mindset. While orks go dat wai and smash dem gitz.

At the end of the day you're trying to decide between two VERY different armies and they're so radically different I can't honestly say one over the other.

Anyways, it looks like GW is going to be pretty good about getting new codices for everyone. Tau just got theirs, but orks aren't going to be THAT far off.

So, really, it just matters about which army's aesthetic you like better. Something we're not really going to be able to answer for you.

This really comes down to which army's playstyle and aesthetics appeal to you more. If it were up to me I'd pick Tau because they're so different to what I currently play (Tyranids) and it would be an interesting change, so maybe pick the when that plays differently to your current army?

Orks tend to be a variation of a theme with CC being the end result... 6th ed if anything, has nerfed CC. The loss of +1 I has screwed the orks where it doesn't matter as you are always going last in CC, you have to weather overwatch fire, multi-charge takes away all of your benefits and you have large units that could multi-charge quite easily...

Real easy... If you go into a new subject... there is a POLL button. Click on it.
Then you define the question...

Which army should I build?

Then you define the options...
Tau
Then you select a second option
Ork
Then you can close it or select a third option
Pick something else (please define)
Finally you can chose whether you want to allow multiple options or not.

I am not sure if you can modify an existing one but try it and go in and edit this one... See if the Poll button exists...

omg.. i cant believe orks are winning the polls. Tau are so much cooler Playing orks are annoying.. Takes them forever just to finish their movement phase. If you have the patience to paint hundreds of models go orks lol.
