I'm gonna assume you mean best allies for necrons. In that case it really depends on your list and what you're playing against. I think Grey Knights would be amazing. Fill in your CC weaknesses.

I don't think Necron are that weak in CC to be honest. A wraith wing of 6 led by a Destroyer Lord with mind scarabs is a mini deathstar which is fast, resilient and not to be trifled with. Not a lot of things dare to tangle with such a unit unless they themselves are a dedicated CC unit. And even if they are, the outcome is by no means assured.

Necrons are actually quite decent in CC. They're a damn sight better at it than the other two big shooty armies. Things like Lychguards, spyders, stalkers, C'tan, and wraiths remain mean in close combat, and a properly kitted royal court can mash just about any unit in the game. Warriors and Immortals also stack respectably well in melee. Sure the Necrons aren't gods in assault like they are at short ranged shooting, but they're not going to crumple once you can get them into melee. The Necron army is exceedingly well rounded and extremely flexible, which is part of why it's so good at the moment. You can just do so much with it, monstrous creature spam? You can do that. Blobs? Got that too. Decent assault? You betcha! Wall of tough vehicles? Oh hell yes. Flyer spam? They codified this! Deathstars? Got some of the best in the game. Deployment and reserve fethery? These guys are the deployment reserve fething MASTERS.

Necrons don't need allies all that much, so rather pick allies on what you think would be nice for your points. A grey knight land raider provides a nice shooty brick and a good alternative to the monolith for example, so that can be workable.

Necrons are great all around. They don't have any glaring weaknesses apart from stuff which heavily penalizes their army-wide (except the c'tan) Initiative 2 and relative lack of ways to remove cover saves from the stuff they are shooting at.

That said, whomever said that a full wraith wing (with whip coils) and a destroyer lord (packing MSS and sempiternal weave, 'natch) is a CC monster is correct. It'll go toe-to-toe with anything in CC that is event remotely close to it's weight class (points-wise) and stands a really good chance of being the only thing still standing there when the dust settles.

stalkers are dog poop in cc not sure why you think they are good. but in answer to OP necrons are good at CC Grey Knights make a good ally as do CSM. Nightsythes + a hell drake is brutal. Personally I prefer just vanilla necrons, not a fan of taking allies with them it feels dirty.

Necrons have Wraiths, Spyders and Scarabs for combat. None of them are particularly killy, unless in big numbers, but are great for mopping up and holding things in place. All their other CC units are either bad, expensive or both.

Orks are my ally of choice for Necrons. They bring what Necrons sorely lack, a cheap scoring unit that won't fold to assault and can effectively hold the middle of the board. Plus they got more dakka from Shootas, more S7 spam from Lootas and the greatness of Kannonz/Lobbaz. The KFF also combines well with a solar pulse for 1 turn of 3+ cover for all your Boyz.

Perhaps he means, the new Canoptek Tomb Stalkers, which are pretty good in CC.

Stalkers don't ignore armor like a dreadnought with ccw though do they?

That could be it, do the tomb stalkers still get too charge the turn they arrive.

Stalkers (elite walker pick) do not have a dccw and are S6 with only 2 attacks they are quite terrible in CC.

Canoptek Stalkers don't get to charge the turn they arrive, but they do have Outflank, and Acute senses, so you can pick where you want to arrive pretty much. They also gained Rampage.

Triarch Stalkers are also S7.

S7/S6 still no DCCW, they are far more dangerous shooters than cc monsters.
