How can you rate him? He kicks like a forward when he's under and sort of pressure, he's inconsistent as a grade 12 show off, and he only just recently learnt how to tackle. Yes he'll throw a huge cut out pass/do four steps in a row/something once in every three or four games. He'll also kick it backwards, miss easy shots on goal, etc.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own... |

Well, when he drinks as much as an Aussie does, what do you expect?? Lol, Honestly mate, I haven't heard of too many of the Aussie 25, but they can't really be THAT bad, considering the Australian Conference is doing OK in SuperRugby this year.

I'm saying I'm happy that he didn't make it, he has made it before and I always think they made a huge error because he just isn't that good. Going with someone else, anyone else, even Berrick 'Concussion' Barnes, is a definite step in the right direction

Today is the day that the good ship sets sail for Australia via Hong Kong.
In other news. Dylan Hartley has been banned for 11 weeks for giving a ref lip, and Best has been drafted into the squad.

Lions have arrived in Hong Kong! Yeah!
When you consider how bad a week the Aussies have had with Chinese hackers, Rolf Harris under arrest, and now the Lions on the verge of touching down, it's no wonder they're reluctant to post

I don't think the Aussies have been able to post, due to chinese hackers.
I also think I saw that Geoff Parling has gone on to join the Lions as well??

Why? I think Gatland's plan is to pass it from a breakdown to the centre who will run back to the forwards. A miss pass from the scrumy will do the trick.
No need for a 10 there, so why not take an extra forward!

Since when did Gatland have a plan? I think the inclusion of so many Welsh players blows that idea out the water!

I keep bumping this thread up, but tomorrow is the day: Lions Vs Barbarians in Hong Kong.
I will probably be drinking, so if I pop up later on and start spouting random gibberish, then people will know why!
Still uneasy about the number of Welsh in the side...and Scots...and Irish!!

the first two have me scratching my head, but i mean, the Irish only make sense, as it is the B&I Lions after all

Well, a win is a win, but it was the typical warm up exhibition style of win. At least some of the combinations are starting to gel. But now we have bigger fish to fry. Onwards and upwards to Australia for the traditional welcome (a can of fosters and a slap of the ear )
Bring on Western Force!!!

Well, not for the first time, Australia has shown its true colours with a sneaky plan: Western Force are fielding a shadow side for the game tomorrow. The lions think that the Aussies are doing this on purpose so that the lions will be undercooked for the test games. Given the track record of Australian treachery, I'm inclined to agree with the Lions' management!
On a more serious note, I can't understand why Western Force aren't fielding a full strength side. They're struggling in the league and for a lot of these players, this will be the only chance they get to play a Lions side. Very strange.

How many players are in the international squad and unavailable for the club game? That might be why. Not sure though

Well that was a total mis-match. What are the Aussie tactics these days? Half of Western force had never played a league game, never mind an international!
Deans is holding back his national team members, but seeing as Australia have no warm up games beforehand, this makes no sense. Let's hope Saturday brings a stiffer test. Not like the Aussies to roll up the white flag.

In the UK the games are exclusive to Sky. Isn't there an American equivalent/partnership?

I just saw my DirecTv has a game this weekend on my "rugby channel"
Unfortunately I only have 2 games on that channel this weekend... I haven't looked to see if the Highlanders are playing or not, but I'll take what I can get

It was a tough test for the Lions, but overall, they're coming to the boil quite nicely. I still think a shortage of 10s could come back to haunt us. Upfront, the Lions have the Aussie card well and truly marked!

Another match today against some select side...with Hogg at 10! Let's hope this is not a desperate gamble from Gatland that backfires.

Watched the game v the brumbies yesterday...not a stellar performance, but they had ( i think ) all the new boys in plus hogg at 10.He had a couple of kicks come off the uprights which were unlucky and overall it was a solid performance from him.
It did look dis-jointed,but imho, with all the new boys in and the lack of training together for a length of time, the loss should not detract from saturdays first test.
If anything,it gives the aussie press something to talk about before their national side gets a slap this coming saturday ( i hope ).

Its a wee necro, but since tonight is the deciding game in the series, I hope its ok.
Fingers crossed halfpenny is off this game, we can do without his ridiculous kicking ability hammering us from 40 & 50 out.

I gave up on this thread as I was fed up being a one man band! Still, at least somebody brought it back. I'm heading off to watch it now. It's too close to call. Normally, I'd wish the Aussies luck, but I don't think I could handle another series lose to Australia!
It would drive me to drink

Could be worse mate, you could have Dan Carter kicking goal... Man, I can't even begin to tell you how many matches I've watched with him playing, where I want him to miss just ONE KICK!!!
Also, how did the match go? It wasn't on any of my cable channels, so I couldnt record it
