Well there has been four codices released since the release of six edition. Is this because 6th is just a different game, especially with warlord traits and physic powers. Is this push just GW trying to get all armies up to date not letting any army be at the disadvantage of not having their own personal warlord traits or physic powers?

I would like to think its GW having actually worked out the changes in the codexes before they released 6th ed and the time between codexes are a combination of marketing strategy, time to put together fluff and pictures, and the printers needing time. But maybe I am just an optimist.

Most likely explanation: the Hobbit game was a complete failure, and GW is scrambling to get enough sales (along with cutting as much as they can). Releasing a new codex every month probably isn't sustainable, but it might make their next financial report good enough to keep the shareholders happy.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

That...is probably true, sadly. Best explanation I've seen floated yet. At least it got me Tau. If they can just sustain this till I get new Blood Angels, I'll be happy.

Cheers! Here's to another failure release of the Hobbit for Fall/Winter '13! I hope that waste of time tanks so hard and they cut it. Focus more on fantasy and 40k.

I like the speed up. I am curious as to why they did a 180 on there previous strategy though.

Personally I think it has to do with the head honcho being so close to retirement... he wants to pump out as much as he can so when he retires and sells he gets a pretty penny, and doesn't care what happens after

Well, codex writing needs thinking, play testing and whatnot. If all codices are written by the same person, at least partly (Vertock), the quality of the codices is going down. More (good) writers would be needed to keep up the pace.

Got a thread on this -- see above -- so I'm going to lock this one.
FWIW the current release schedule was set well before The Hobbit game went on sale.
